So I have decided to finally re-arrange my man cave. The DirecTV wall jack is currently next to my TV. I will be moving my TV about 20 feet away against another wall. 4K tv, with 4K genie. Have drop down ceiling.

One thought is to run a long cable up to the ceiling, over and drop it down. The other is to have DTV come out and re-run the cable and put in a wall jack, which I am sure would be costly.

What have others done when moving TV? Will there be degraded signal if I use a longer coax. Do I need the RG6 cable? Also, does it matter? As far as I can tell, there are no cable channels that broadcast in 4K. Is there another option that I am missing?

If you want to do this yourself all you need is an F81 type connector and a longer piece of coax (RG6 is always much preferred) to extend the current cable to its new location.
