    Here's an updated version.
I'll still be working on it but of course the more input the better.

Been otherwise occupied today helping a neighbor & co-worker get his car going this morning, and then this afternoon replacing a wiper motor in a kiddo's car.

Some items that could be added:

    • Coming out of FFWD does not backtrack during MRV to make up for overshoot.
    • Playlist cursor will jump to the top of the list when opening a folder, and can also do it at other times.
    • Pagedown in a Playlist sometimes results in the cursor only moving down part way in the list.
    • If a server disappears from your client List an RBR usually brings it back.
    • A remote Playlist accessed via MRV has its own sort options (that aren’t sticky).
    • It may take a few minutes for all servers to show up in a client’s List.
    • An H20 HD receiver can’t be used for MRV since it has no Ethernet port

edit - a few more items:
    • MENU => My Playlist or LIST => LIST brings up the last Playlist selected.
    • The Playlist screens can be confusing since they are so similar and are not named.
    • Universal Plug-n-Play (UPnP) is not required to be enabled on a home network router for MRV operation.
    • Server order in the client Playlist seems to be random.

    Change
    From:
The server is any HR2x HD DVR,

    To:
The server is any HR2x HD DVR and/or R22 SD DVR.

    Change
    From:
    DVR, and the client

    To:
    DVR. The client

That is all I see. I think you have everything else covered and it looks GREAT! :)

    Good Job, Steve!

    Lower...
Stuart, you may want to double-check this with D*, but I don't believe IAMANEDGECUTTER and MRVCLIENTON are required anymore.

I've activated a couple of refurbs in the past 3 weeks, and unless they came from someone who already ran those SEARCHES, all I did was make sure MULTIROOM DVR was "on", under the MISC menu. /steve

All right, here's the first draft of the PDF. I'm sure that it still needs a little bit of polish, as I added some elements that I thought would make it a more complete document.

    Great looking document!

Is it worthwhile to note that the H21 has better MRV playback at this time, especially with the mpeg2 OTA recordings that will play at all, probably because it has had more development time? I find this to still be true after Friday's CEs.

The H21 List cap has an error in the text originating from the Word .doc:
"The Playlist from an HD receiver is a little different since it doesn’t have its own Playlist:"
should read "The List from an HD receiver is a little different since it doesn’t have its own Playlist:"

Also, need to make all the punctuation the same (some lines have periods and some do not, caused by combining items from different sources) in the list at the end.

The HR20-700 List caption is next to an HR20-700 Playlist cap. Probably want to change the graphic and leave the caption.

The caption "The My Playlist option brings up the usual playlist from the local DVR." is next to an HR22-100 MRV Playlist instead of a local Playlist.

Not sure what you're saying here.

I'll probably change that graphic out.

Not sure about this statement on page 4. It can be removed. Isn't a R22 considered an SD receiver?:
All current DIRECTV receivers except for SD receivers have network ports.

This stuff is getting to look better than what Directv produces. ;)

    Nice job!

The top and bottom caps from page 5 are the same type of screen cap, just from different DVRs. Looks like the top one should be changed.

I think that you need to use this cap
    View attachment 18234

    instead of this one
    View attachment 18208

to match the caption "This is an example of the List screen
    from an HR20-700."

The cap used is actually a Playlist from an HR20 as viewed remotely via MRV (missing the Delete & Keep options).

Need to add a screen cap to the following text on the bottom of page 5 or we're missing an MRV Playlist to compare to the local Playlist:

"The other options bring up the server playlists that look and function almost just like the
local playlist but with fewer options (missing Delete and Keep)."

Move and use this cap from the top of page 5

R22 is an SD DVR. I will try to rewrite it so that it is clear that we mean SD receiver-only STBs.

I'm not sure that we need to see an MRV playlist to compare with a local one... I'll let you guys decide.

So you would include only the local Playlist with all 4 options (Delete/Tab/Playlist Options/Keep) which hasn't changed with MRV,
    View attachment 18210

only the new MRV Playlist with the two options (Tab/Playlist Options),
    View attachment 18208

    or both?

I don't see a reason why we need it either.

I'm not sure, honestly, that we need either screen capture but I think that perhaps the one to include is the remote one so that people can see the lack of options on it. If I have a little while I'll revise the document today.

:p I really haven't used MRV that much yet. I have 2 HR20-700's w/ 1.5TB and 750GB. What wants to be watched by my family are on the respective drives of the machine frequented. I have played w/ it a bit...but not enough to offer anything of significance. I'll let ya know when/if I do tho. :)

OK, I completely reworked the page with the MRV screen caps. Let's see what you all think.
