Perhaps this thread can be closed quickly.

Should someone volunteer to put together a write up with pictures on "How to Setup MRV for CE'ers!"?

    Just a thought!

    EDIT
Sorry about the spelling in the title! :)

I'd do it but I'm not that good of a technical writer, plus I don't have a way to screencap the IRD menus.

What? We don't already have a how-to thread?

I could do one, helped with the DIRECTV2PC paper and can get caps with either the Hava or Slingbox. Have 2 Hr20-700s & an HR22-100, but the H21-200 is out of commission right now due to operator error.

inkahauts is more about DLB than MRV (although it's a combination of the two).

Great! Here is what I envision.

How do I get MRV to work on my Hxx-xxx and HRxx-xxx?

Showing the beginning to the end and displaying the selection of the playlist. If you just make text reference to the Keyword searches that are needed and then a simple network setup connection with one wired and the other one wireless, that should be the meat of it.

If the keyword search stuff is just simple text instructions like:
Menu => Search => etc then it can easily be removed when this goes national and still be a accurate reference.

Perhaps we should also get a buy in from the mods too!

No I staterd one on DLB, and how MRV can be used with it, but it is NOT MRV.. I was thinking of starting one for that too.. It will be far more involved, so I did DLB first.. If some peopel want to put things together and send them to me, I'll organize it all and post it... :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe we already have one thread on how to network Directv units, right? That would need to be linked as well... No sense in rewriting it though...

If I have time latter, I'll start the thread and then we can slowly fill in the details.. i.e. posts for different aspects, etc...

I could help, but I don't have the time to do it on my own.

Here is the Master Greg Networking 101 Thread and here is mine. That should take care of networking, plus the 10 FAQ Questions.

This could be Sticky material! ;)

Well it was Champagne, and I spilled it on the receiver by accident, then there...then there was this flash and the receiver became self-aware... :eek2:

Actually it was Clintonian Compartmented mind Syndrome.
On part of my brain knew that there was no H21 CE last Friday but the other part forced a download anyway. Now it's on NR until the next Friday.

    I like it! :D

    Nice work. :)

Oh, and in answer to one of the questions at the end, DD 5.1 works fine, provided the original material is in 5.1. In other words, the server DVR does NO processing on the file, it just streams it out over the network. The client box decodes and displays the file just as if were being played "live" including audio.
