I currently have multiple Directivo's zippered for MRV. I am switching to HR20's in the near future. This is almost a can't live without feature for me. Is there anyway to currently do this as the only two options I have come up with are:

    1) Wait for MRV to be enabled via the ethernet ports on the HR20 by a DTV upgrade.

    2) Wait for the release of slingcatcher.

Both of these options are obviously not yet available. Any info is appreciated.

I used to use MRV pretty heavily. The lack of MRV on the HR20 was definitely a concern for me. However, the ability to record in HD has taken precendence over MRV. What I've been doing is just recording things multiple times if I feel like its a show I might want to watch in another room. But, to be honest, I rarely watch TV anymore on anything but my HDTV.

The best option I have found is to use UHF modulators on the outputs of each of my DVRs (2 HR20's, 1 R15), mix the result, and send it back to all my TV sets. While this only gives me an SD presentation, it meets my needs. I am not aware of any completely HD solution to do this.

It would be expensive, but you could do that.

I miss the old Replay units I had and could do MRV plus archive to a PC. With all the asked for new features on the HR20 MRV is my #1 wished for new feature.

As tight as DIRECTV is with security, that's not going to happen. The best you may get is the peer to peer stuff NDS supposedly has in the works for the next update of the middleware (which is kind of neat). Or hopefully DIRECTV has something in the works that will happen much sooner.
