I thought the show was very funny! The picture was just OK for HD and my local station had problems with the audio, but I still watched the whole thing.
NO LAUGH TRACK, which for me makes it all that much better.
I will be watching this one! :hurah: :hurah:

I wasn't sure about this show. Whenever a show has mega-hype it usually sucks, but I like Jason Lee (Kevin Smith's Mallrats & others) so I set a timer.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised how entertaining it was. I have now set a weekly timer.

Didn't notice the laugh track (or lack there of) but what I watched (middle 15 minutes - went bowling) I though it was pretty funny. Might get a season pass for this one.

I watched 13 mins of the junk & switched to Fraiser. This show won't last 3 weeks!

You might be right but Earl did very good numbers on the premier.

"Earl" drew 15.2 million viewers to its premiere at 9 p.m. ET, tops in a competitive half-hour that included FOX's "House" and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" special, as well as the finale of "Big Brother 6" on CBS. Perhaps more important for NBC, the well-reviewed comedy posted a hefty 6.6 rating among adults 18-49, the demographic advertisers love and by which NBC measures success.

"Earl" should be about the first cancellation.

While I enjoyed the show, I'm not sure if it has any staying power. The writers will have to come up with some good ideas to keep it interesting.

The HD version looked great to me. No problems here.

I loved it...but I typically like the off-the-wall shows like this.

I enjpyed it but I am wondering how long the gimmick will last. Of course I am the same guy that thought Friends would last 13 weeks and that no one would ever miss it.

Premise works, but it has to be carried by continual good writing and acting - so far so very good on that point.

Since my 3 tuners are occupied by House, Supernatural and TAR, I finally succumbed and got this off torrent. I'd say this follow-up episode is better. I just hope the guy playing the convict does not get typecast. He was this weird cellmate in Prison Break just the other week -- unless that was the same character while he was in prison :D

Disagree. I think this show has legs. It has an interesting cast and the first couple of story lines have been pretty funny. I give it one and a half thumbs up.
