Will the older wired cck support pass through? Meaning you can feed the CCK and a receiver on a single line? I was wanting to add another hr24 but didn't want to have to get an 8-way splitter. I thank this would work in my situation.

I asked the installer for a HR34 and his response was "We have them in stock, we are not allowed to install them till tommorow, You be happier with a HR24 anyways the HR 34's are not what there cracked up to be"

If it had two coax connectors, it might, but since they don't.....

Yeah, having an HR34 with 5 tuners and able to view recordings on 3 remote receivers would be a real pain ;)... more likely your installer was lazy and didn't want to install the SWM-16 system you'd need for 9 tuners.

You would be much better off with an HR34, with one DVR and 4 non-DVR receivers.

    Los...
It could be laziness, unless the installer is claiming that for whatever reasons, hardware and/or software related, all that enhanced functionality of the HR34 is not working very well yet.

it could have been a case of lazy. I was his 3pm appointment that day... he called me at 9 am to ask if i wanted installed early... i think he was just trying to "squeeze" me in so maybe he could have an early day?? either way i got my IRD's and yes i have totally re-wired his work and snapped some pretty good pics of it for the shame thread!

Or it might have been the fact that the installer was there with a work order that did not have an HR34 on it did not have a SWM16 on it. You cant just install whatever you want. most techs dont have SWM16s or hr34s on their truck, and cannot just install one without a work order to support it or its basically stealing and they fire people over it.

Hard to tell with those pictures if its bad or not what I can tell is the splitter isnt mounted properly and looks like no ground. Be cool to see your (better) before and after pictures after you fix it your way.
