I love this race and order it every year, HD or not.
...anyhoo...can't wait to watch it tonight!
I didn't watch it but from the reports, it sounded like a bore. Guess who led all the way?!
795 Jeff Gordon
796 Juan Pablo
797 Jimmie Johnson
798 Dale Jr
Aside from the 88 each of these cars should run up front.
Not sure anyone will be able to beat the 42.
This is racing, all it takes is one wrong move to loose, or getting in the way of Edwards or Keselowski.
This track and these cars are just not a good fit. Brutal.
Yea, but that "Smokey and the Bandit" commercial with the two 18-wheelers car haulers was worth watching.
Nascar sure doesnt like to see Montoya out in the lead, do they?
Those commercials are the best part of ESPN's coverage all day.
Especially since the two semis were of Edwards v. Keslowski. I wonder if they picked those two before the Nationwide race last week.
It seems his own crew chief, Brian Pattie, can!!!
(shoulda went with 2 tires like teammate McMurray did)
Lineup for Pocono...
795 - Denny Hamlin
796 - Jeff Gordon
797 - Kevin Harvick
798 - Joonyer! the 88
Wow, what a hit taken by Elliot Sadler. Glad he's alright.
Gordon just can't catch a break this year. If it rained, he wins by being the leader and rightfully so at that point. If it doesn't rain, normal pitstops, without all that strategy, more than likely lets him win. However it spits just enough to make it a mess on the pitstops. 4 tires, 2 tires, no tires, gas to make it to the end.
BTW, D* failed to update their crew list graphics for Gordon and still hand Shannon McGlammery listed as his spotter.
That was amazing, the hit he took straight into that wall, knocking the motor out of the car, then walking away from it. Sure says good things about the safety of today race cars.
Watkins Glen this week:
795 - Robby Gordon
796 - Tony Stewart
797 - Juan Pablo Montoya
798 - Marcos Ambros
Logical choices but don't get too "88 missing" crazy. JR hasn't been covered for the past several years at road courses because... he sux at them. He be back next week to bog down a channel I'm sure.
Man, I need a fourth TV! All great choices for Watkins Glen.
With the exception of Stewart, I'd agree with you..
hahaha, you mean this year's winner? again...
I'll agree that Stewart had some good fortune at Watkins Glen in the past but I just don't see him doing it this year. Tony just has not had the equipment good enough for a win.
His average finish at WG in the 11 years he's raced there in Cup is 5.3, that's more than just "good fortune". And if you're referring to the fact he has no wins this year, sure, but this is his time of year to ramp up. And as far as not having the equipment I'm calling BS. 2nd at Pocono last week, 6 top 5's this year, 11 top 10's this year and an average finish of 13.3 for the season. I don't call that bad equipment at all.
I guess there is no hot pass today...
They are up on the satellite for Canada, but not for DirecTv...
