It would be interesting if DTV were to designate channel 794 as a shared HOTPASS channel where drivers could "talk" to each other during the race.

    Sunny...
I don't have a "dog in this fight" but...

There was no name calling. "Being ignorant to facts" is different to being "ignorant". To think that "tire-dipping" is still rampant today is pretty naive and uninformed.

Yes, I agree with Nascr2424! You two just need to agree to disagree!!! :D

    BTW, 48 & 88 starting mid-pack this week - 24 starts 3rd!

Each race there are 9 cars with in-car cameras.. Noone forces DTV to give Jr. a channel every week.. If anything they should let the fans vote for the 4th channel.. If he's still got all the hype then so be it.. (But a look at the "fan vote" on the SiriusSatelite "driver channel" would show otherwise.. Jr. was not even in the top 10 this week, on votes to get the channel.) :nono2:

Mid season they had a "driver head to head" competition.. They showed 2 drivers per channel.. Was the best thing I'd seen in a long time!! 2 drivers, plus the OTA broadcast in a 3rd box.. Was brilliant.. Unfortunately, Hamlin knocked Jr. out in the 1st race, so he went w/o a channel for like 4 races.. They'll never make that mistake again!! lol

Sorry Runner, but it is the sealer that puts out the yellow burnout smoke.. :)

EDIT: Also sorry for not using the "Multi-Quote".. Just now figured out how it works.. Too little too late unfortuntely.. :(

Again its free. used to cost a bunch before and during that time I wanna say we did have the 4th channel via a fan vote. But now its 100% free so enough with the bickering about who is on what channel. Esp when no one here knows 100% the way the contracts are for hotpass and how the drivers are picked. It could be directv 100% picking but I highly doubt that as thats huge huge huge huge marketing TV time there for who is on the channel. So to say that the sponsors don't poney up for it to DirecTV is a little assinine imho. No way DirecTV would give that valuable ad spot time there to the sponsors at not try to make $ off of it.

I know it's free! I also know it used to cost a fee, I paid for it.. And no, DTV never had a fan vote channel for Hotpass.. And, I'll bicker and bicker, and bicker... All I want.. ;)

your right it was for the audio on the network channel. We were able to vote for drivers to be added to the driver audio list on the hotpass channel that showed the network feed only.

If Runner takes the time to check out Bowyer's burnout from Loudon (it's on Youtube) a couple of weeks ago he'll see lots of yellow smoke.

The reason I didn't let it go is because it's not really an agree/disagree situation. Runner was accusing the 48 of cheating and was completely wrong about the cause of the yellow smoke.

When I am wrong I admit it. Others....not so much.:)

I don't care who is paying for the people on what channels, or that it is free, if I want to question why Mr 20+ finish, or #88, is constantly on I can. Considering we are in the chase now he still is not relevant and shouldn't be on. Hell Ambrose or Menard would make a better channel than him.

It's probably just a matter of sheer numbers. They'd rather have viewers than show Chase drivers.

    Lineup for California:

    795 Denny Hamlin
    796 Jeff Gordon
    797 Jimmie Johnson
    798 Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Other that Dale Jr, a very solid lineup of Chase contenders.

    Sunny...
Wow, 24 this week. I might actually watch it live now. :p

Seriously, I've tired of Nascar (after being a watcher since 1979) and record it now. I watch NFL (since following it from 1976) and then the cup race later at night, at bedtime.

I've seen drivers come and go. Good times (Harry Gant, Dale Jarrett, Richard Petty, Benny Parsons, Terry LaBonte, Kyle Petty, Rusty Wallace, Ricky Rudd, Donnie Allison) and bad times (Davey Allison, Bobby Allison, Tim Richmond, J.D. McDuffy, Neil Bonnett, Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin Jr., Tony Roper, John Nemechek, Blaze Alexander (ARCA), Dale Sr., Alan Kulwicki, Rodney Orr, Grant Adcox (ARCA),)

It's too bad that all Brian France sees today, is dollars signs to make him richer when the highway has been paved with the souls of the one's we have lost! :grrr:

Forrest Gump: "Momma said there's only so much fortune a man really needs and the rest is just for showing off."

I live and breath NASCAR and other motorsports. Since I am not much of a fan of the NFL (But I do love college football) I don't mind that the NFL gets the ratings.

I watched the 24 channel today as well. I had not watched HP since the last time 24 was on.

Anyway, I see D* STILL hasn't updated the graphics for the 24. They still showed Shannon McGlamery instead of Jeff Dickerson as his spotter.

But you had to love the "I can't see ya but I think you're 5-wide... 5-wide, 5-wide, keep pushing, keep pushing, keep pushing... you're going to be okay." (or words to that effect). 16th to 9th in 2 laps - should have been better if he didn't have that speeding penalty.
