Claire generally has really good info. I also think Interstate is getting tired of Cryle, long before this. They've already been removing his name from Interstate Battery trucks.

And "most talented"? No, not hardly.

It's going to be an interesting finish to the chase. Depending on Phoenix, it could go to the wire at Homestead, where both Carl and Tony have each won twice.

I am full on pulling for the 14. I don't like Carl or Roush. I am not really a Stewart fan but I completely respect him as a driver and what he's accomplished in NASCAR. I am glad he's affiliated with Hendrick. You can bet they are giving him full support in terms of helping them in any way they can.

It is going to be so awesome when Smoke smokes Carl. Even if it weren't Smoke I'd be pulling for anyone against Carl, yes anyone. I'd even pull for Jeffie or Cryle against Carl.

When Smoke wins we'll have a JJ sandwich with Smoke bread as far as Championships go.

The best part is watching Tony play mind games with Carl then backing it up.

Absolutely, and you can see it's getting to Carl too.

Carl stated that he needed to focus on not only the 14 but others in contention. That's a mistake. The only thing Carl and his team should be focused on is themselves and making their car fast and making sure there race strategy is solid.

I am just glad JJ will not win the championship again.

Don't care who beats him. Probably because I hate Chad moreso than JJ.

Tony needs to go an a diet though. Too many BK specials. He was winded at the Texas stage during photos and had to sit down and recover.

The drivers lose about 10lbs per race. 10lbs in 4 hours? That's my kind of diet! He wasn't the only winded one.

Yeah you should be amazed more so by the ones that get outa the cars at the end and look like they haven't even broken a sweat after all that.
Me, I would be drenched dripping sweat but u see Carl sometimes and others hop on out and not a drop is on em.

So Cryle's punishment from NASCAR was announced. $50,000 and probation, basically a slap on the wrist.

    They did stipulate however:

"if during the remaining NASCAR events in 2011 there is another action by the competitor that is deemed by NASCAR officials as detrimental to stock car racing or to NASCAR, or is disruptive to the orderly conduct of an event, the competitor will be suspended indefinitely from NASCAR."

Sitting out a Cup and a NW race is hardly a slap on the wrist. That was a HUGE penalty. I am sure Kyle got the message because if he pulls any more blatant stunts they'll sit him for month.

I can't agree. He wasn't in contention to win the Cup so sitting out really didn't mean much to him financially. He could have probably paid the $50,000 in cash too.

He's said before that he's gotten the message and yet look where he is now...

RunnerFL - you headed to Homestead? I think we are unless something crazy happens in Phoenix and Tony doesn't have a chance.

Anybody know the HotPass drivers for Sunday?

I miss my tickets, for Homestead, 20th row at start finish line, we gave them up when we moved. Had them since the Nationwide cars were to only ones at Homestead. :crying_sa

I'm considering it. Last time I went was 2005 when Tony won Championship #2.

For Kyle, racing is his life. Being forced to sit out was a horrible penalty for him on a personal level. It has nothing to do with the money or The Chase.

That being said, it appears that Kyle may indeed be out at JGR. Seeing things on Twitter and Jayski that sound ominous for Kyle. What a mess.

If he is released by JGR it will be fun to see the bidding war for his services in 2012. A super talent like Kyle suddenly appearing on the open market will make some big waves.

That was true when Hendrick released him but now that 2 big organizations are unwilling to deal with his actions do you really think a small time organization, or even another big time organization, will take the risk?

    Sunny...
    Well, let's see.

Hendrick dropped him. When Hendrick released him, Roush said he did not want him based on his brother's trouble with Roush (now probably proven as a good step, also he bailed from Roush's development program to go to Hendrick). Richard Childress played the "knuckle drums" on his head earlier this year, so no love there. If JGR let's him go, that's it for the big 4 (Hendrick-Roush-Gibbs-Childress). Earnhardt-Ganassi is left but they have not done much since Sr passed, so top dollar is ???. He could take a pay cut and go there hoping to improve their program. Redbull may be gone but has not made many waves. MWR? That's a team that can't get anything going and dropped their only cup winner last week. What's left? Furniture Row? Tommy Baldwin? :nono2:

Doesn't matter. You tell ANY driver they have to sit out a race and watch someone else drive their car; the message will be received.

As far as Kyle goes at PHX and Miami, the rumor from Marty Smith is that he will drive the interstate batteries car. The decal company that wraps the cars was called to Phoenix to re-wrap 2 JGR cars. Aric Almirola has been contacted about possibly driving the 18 but nothing official and Aric has not heard back from JGR. No news from JGR as of yet probably means nothing is finalizes as of yet.

Another report for next season is Ron Hornaday driving for KBM as he wants to concentrate on the Cup series only. That's from Bob Pockrass.
