I am very happy that TNT is done with its coverage for another year, but man that race was boring. These cars, in this day in age, with these "hard to pass" tracks makes for a snooze fest.:(

All of the other networks run pretty much the same ratio of race to commercials:

ESPN will be running political ads during the races this year. Boo.

Goodyear brought a terrible tire. When the left sides don't wear out everyone just runs the same speed.

Yup, and apparently no one wants to "have at it" this year.

They should have let Cope on the track for Sprint Cup ... that would have added some Drama for TNT. :D

:DIt would have made a difference. Don't think Harvick would be as nice in the Sprint Cup Race.

I just noticed in my guide that they've added "-1" notice channels indicating there will be no more standard definition Hotpass channels as of August 5th (the date of the second Pocono race).

6 days till the Brickyard, baby. When the tires hold together, it makes for some awesome racing (and, arguably, the best camera shots in all of NASCAR).

Damn, Mark's lucky to be alive after that wreck - a few inches to the left and that wall tries to go through his driver side door :eek2:

Someone off-topic, but is that the same announcer doing the Keselowski commercial (the psychiatrist press conference/eating turkey/pepper spray commercial) who did the "stop taking in stray animals, etc". D* commercials earlier this year?

I attended the race and the Mark Martin deal was scary. There was an audible collective gasp from the crowd. However, it wasn't until I got home and watched my recording of the race that I realized that Mark could have been killed.

If you look at the wreck in slow motion you see where the wall tried to come in farther forward on the car than it did but the frame of the car, and the way it's shaped at the driver's door, moved the car ever so slightly forward and made the wall come in the car farther back. Not that it wasn't a scary wreck but the frame/roll cage on the driver's door is sturdier than the frame where the wall did go through. I'm not saying it could take a direct hit, and let's hope we never find out, but it did help keep the wreck from being worse.

If you look at a car without its skin you'll see the angle of the metal that I'm referring to. The wall of steel that makes up the driver's door area is farther out and has about a 45 degree angle in towards the back wheel well. Looks like the wall initially tried to come in on that angle but because of the angle the car slid forward before the wall came in.

And regardless of hitting Bobby or not it was Montoya's move that caused it all. As usual Montoya is at the root of a big wreck, and then puts Joey in the wall too. The man is a menace.

The only thing I don't like about HotPass is they don't have the volume on the channels adjusted right. I have to jack up the volume to hear anything most of the time and then when they come on the radio it scares the bejesus out of me. :hurah:

+1 to your Montoya comment I think.

    Which I completely agree with.

I don't mind the radio broadcast audio, but this weird combination of Sprint Vision, regular tv broadcast, and the occasional set of commercials seems weirder than what they have done during ABC broadcasts in the past...
