The Chinese are also kissy-kissy with G.H.W.B., so what's ur point, other than trying that stupid "commie" label? As far as Clinton in Africa, I work with a guy from West Africa. He likes Clinton, but HATES Dubya. Clinton is fairly well respected in Africa.

You are correct. They (right-wingers) quote a president they never would have supported when he was in office. For right-wingers it was Nixon in '60. I still love Lloyd Bentsen's "I knew Jack Kennedy, and you're no Jack Kennedy." statement to Quayle in '88. It was a classic.

Republicans vilify Democrats while they ar ein office and fors ome time to follow. But eventually theyt try to pretend that Truman and Kemnnedy (who they once reviled) are really Republicans. Nothing new there.

Why, I do enjoy all this ranting and raving at each other. Could we stop and restart the primary discussion. Some of you on your wayward travels seem to have forgotten where this thread was going. I thought it was about respect for an office. Not a democrat or republican. Perhaps if some of you hate the other party so much you could refrain from some of your heated post. I have no love for the democrats, but this is not about them. It is about respect for an office. Some of you seem to forget that there have only been (43) Presidents elected in the United States. We are a great nation, who every other nation in the world has looked too for help at one time. Regardless of your party or beliefs. we are honoring a great office. Perhaps some of you would care to have a third party make disparaging remarks at your funeral or a loved ones funeral. Or perhaps have them come on hear and say how he or she hated one of your family members and how much they loath them. Ronald Reagan is no longer a politician. He is now a statesman. Does it really help to belittle a person who has passed on? Sometimes the members of this board can be very hateful at times.
