Thank you for mentioning this. I thought I was going crazy as I thought in previous years preseason games were in the clear on their respective channels. Something has changed. As far as authenticating on the app, I remember not being able to until opening night if not a day or two before and only after getting the NBA office involved.

Even InDemand for Cable providers is showing preseason games for NBALP:

Wish AT&T would wake up and go back to what D* was doing before the merger, cause this sucks as a sports fan.

Just curious, has anyone purchased NBA League Pass from DIRECTV that is not a renewal from last season?

I called this morning and was told they don't offer it yet for this season. I can't add it online either.

I certainly could be wrong, I am of the opinion this is a change initiated by AT&T to reduce the amount of haggling over pricing of their non NFL Sunday Ticket sports packages. NHL Center Ice wasn't available until the day the season began and now NBA League Pass will be the same. I suppose AT&T didn't like how DIRECTV would often times provide some discounts on these sports packages.

I have had NBA LP for quite a few years, but could not get a discount this year. New subscribers aren't likely to get a discount since it won't even be available for purchase until the season starts.

Evidently nba and NHL have made some changes on their side of their offerings and such and this delay is hitting all providers and therefore likely has nothing to do with att and DIRECTV. Even though everyone assumes any changes to anything is att fault..

To be fair DirecTV waited until nearly the last minute earlier this year before finally taking subscriptions for MLS Direct Kick... and ended up getting an unexplained price hike from $80 to $90.

Got $50 off NBA LP, 3 free months of the SportsPack in addition to the $50 off per month for a year already in place. Thank you DIRECTV and let the games begin!

Obviously, my AT&T remarks in an earlier post were inaccurate. :blackeye:

The season starts today, and I am still not able to activate my subscription online. Has anyone else with an auto renewal been able to activate yet on the NBA LP site? So frustrating.

You need to call NBALP customer service. They can get it activated after you send them a screen shot of your Directv statement showing your NBALP subscription and your account number.

Yes, I just called NBALP, and they confirmed that they have a problem on their end with all providers. The CSR said that they will have it resolved this afternoon, but that I can send them a screen shot of my DTV statement if I want this done sooner.

Resolved to watch on LP Broadbabd or resolved to watch on Directv?

Also why are we not being charged for NBALP yet is it because of a free preview?

Has anyone used the existence of team pass on broadband or dish as a bargaining chip? I'm interested in only my (out of my current market) hometown team and nationally televised games. Kind of annoyed that DTV doesn't offer team pass ($80 discount on league pass). Wondering if complaining about the fact that dtv doesn't offer this (while dish does) can help get me LP at something approximating the TP price. (I know I can get it standalone on broadband from NBA, but broadband trick play leads to a lot of spinning circles.)
