been a while since I put something on this topic but I thought this was something.

I don't have news on an NBA team, though kings were very close to being sent to seattle from sacremento. Not sure if the kings are truly safe in Sac, another team that could move is Bucks.

Anyways, with the NHL realignment 16 teams in east 14 in west, that pretty much opens the door for 2 teams to be created in west. Kansas City is the only western sports city to have a New Arena ready right now so will see if they get an NHL team. Because 2 are needed well Seattle is now in a driver seat to land a team.

I came accross this site, it appears Gary Bettman is going to hold a Board of Governers Meeting and ask to approve an expansion team to Seattle, if approved the team could start playing as early as 2014-2015 season.

This link was posted 2 days after the link above, Hanson will need to get control of an NBA team as the primary tennant B4 construction begins on a 490 million project to build the new arena.
So The NHL and Seattle and Hanson are in a waiting game to see what NBA will do, with the kings, or bucks or another struggling NBA team.

Isn't Seattle on the other side of the Mississippi?
