I think this is one of the most clever and entertaining new shows on TV right now.

I'm a huge Damian Lewis fan (Lt, Capt, Major, Colonel Winters from Band of Brothers) and he doesn't disappoint in this show either as Detective Charlie Crews.

It looks great in HD, however, they need to show is Grand National police cruiser more often. :D

Oh yeah...and his parter Dani Reese is pretty easy on the eyes too.

This is one of my wife's and my favorite new shows of the year too. Like you, I loved Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers too and that was a major (pardon the pun!) reason I decided to give this show a shot. The background conspiracy story line is very interesting.

This week is especially good because we get a 2-part show on Monday with the second part it the normal slot on Wednesday.

Definitely my favorite new show. I too was drawn in by seeing Lewis in Band of Brothers. It still crazy to think that he has an English accent.

Let's just hope this show doesn't suffer the same fate as "Studio 60". Anyone know how well it's doing in the ratings? /steve

No kidding! I was blown away while watching the Band of Brothers filiming DVD's. Him and 'House' can really speak without their British accent well.

You sure they are not just pretending to speak without the English accent they used when on the BBC?

Yes, I know they're both English...

That's a good start! Let's hope it gets picked up for next season as well. I'm worried because NBC picked up Studio 60 last year, and they still wound up killing it.

I just checked the Neilsen ratings, and it's not in the top 20 shows last week or overall this season, and in my mind, it's as good or better than half the ones that are on that list.

I'll echo the other comments. I really liked him in BofB and was looking forward to this show. So far, it hasn't disappointed. Really liking it and think that it has a lot of avenues that the story(s) can head in.

I think the concept is downright goofy. I don't buy for a second that any judge would allow a clause in a settlement that forces the LAPD to employ a convicted felon, regardles of the circumstances of his exoneration.

The plots themselves are pretty standard Law and Order fare. Nothing terrible, but nothing I haven't seen a bunch of times before.

However, I do like this show quite a bit, and there's one reason for it: Charlie Crews. He's a fantastic character and Damian Lewis' portrayal is nothing short of exceptional. Terrific actor.

True, but I find the running subplot pretty entertaining.

    +1. Emmy caliber, IMO. /steve

True they wouldn't employee a convicted felon but he's not a felon anymore because his convistion was over turned. It's like it never happened in the eyes of the law.

I do like the show although some of the things they do are not even close to realistic. I am impressed though at how much they wear their vests, which is very uncommon in cop shows (e.g. K-Ville).

The one that bugged me was the search warrant for Charlie's house regarding the retired detective's murder. What were the grounds for the warrant? Especially for someone who had already won a lawsuit against the city and police department.

And I hate that Calamity Jane acts like she supports him as a cop, discussing cases, going on stakeouts, etc and then it turns out she wants dirt on him to get him fired.
