I don't have a problem with adding it (on the contrary, it's on my long-time wishlist); it is already a subchannel from the NBC station here (11.3), but as far as I am aware, it is only available in SD, not in HD.

In any event, it does carry coverage of sports that is not ordinarily available on any of the RSNs -- and despite the departure (although I'm certain it is only temporary) of Versus, it is a channel that I would hope would stick around.

Now, if removing Versus would provide the opportunity for an additional HD channel -- HOW ABOUT ESPNU given that college football season kicked off in earnest today!?

The word you were looking for is "pathetic".

Speaking of pathetic, I just checked Dish's web site. If I were a Dish customer, I still wouldn't be able to get my local NBC or PBS affiliates in HD via Dish. The choice of satellite or cable providers often comes down to available programming. In my DMA, DirecTV beats both Dish and the local cable provider when it comes to delivering programming I want to see.

    Switch providers.
I guess you never tried cable.
    Again, switch providers.
If you don't want them, then don't sign up. Many packages are well worth it. MLBEI equals out to about $1 and some change to see a teams every game.
    Again, switch providers.
    That varies by DMA.
...and people who'd rather b*tch and moan than switch to a different service. If you're sooooo unhappy with the site and Directv, then why visit & continue service?

MLBEI doesn't have every team's games. It don't carry the Padres channel (cable only), most of the Phillies (cable or local channel only), Blue Jays (Canadian channels only), or most local channels' feeds like KCAL and KCOP for the Angels and Dodgers

+1. That's why I have stayed with DTV since '99. Overall, I think it's the best way to go for the most sports. Granted, for the HD movie fan or overall most HD channels, I guess there's better choices out there.

One thing I can't understand here at dbs.... Isn't this a DTV forurm and do other providers (ie Dish, etc) have their own forums? I'm new here, just have wondered about it.

Don't get me wrong, I know DTV's not a perfect provider but it's all about going with the provider that best suits someone's viewing preferences, right?

    I'd love to see DTV:

    - Restore VS
    - Restore the MSG HD feeds to CI
    - Include HD access to ST games without requiring SF
    - Add More HD feeds

But it's not a perfect world, right? I'm waiting for D12 to go active. We'll know more after that.

OT: "Meangreen", Riley had a good game yesterday

I never said every team. Actually, each of your examples can be responded to with the idea that the opponents feed is often carried. I did say a teams every game...I should have said almost every game.

Since Universal Sports doesn't broadcast in HD, I highly doubt that.

From the Universal Sports website ... "We're only broadcasting in SD at the moment, but there are definitely future plans to provide an HD offering."

I am happy this channel is currently showing - I can now watch the Veulta a Espana and other cycling - I just hope they ad it permanently - even in SD it is better than not having it.

Keep US-604 DirecTV - But make sure to get VersusHD back soon

As far as the no HD position and you guys think it could be a good channel like I do you need to support it. I am because I like Olympic style sports and endurance sports. Lets get the channel on first full time then worry about HD.
