I'm confused. Touch screen on what? On the TV display? The DVR would have a screen of it's own?

not sure why you'd need a touch screen on a DVR since most users are going to be using a remote from the sofa, unless they're testing a new touch screen remote.... maybe for the whole-home solution?

I am not sure I would even want a touch-screen

I like the remote controlled DVR :D

I'd bet that someone is testing an early version of the Whole Home DVR, and likely it has a touch PAD remote similar to Dish's 922.

I don't see the point of a touch pad. Could be like dish networks though but that surprised me because I couldn't see that coming from directv.

Maybe he meant a touch screen remote. :scratchin

Otherwise it doesn't make any sense...but then again I don't have idea about what may be in testing so I could be out to lunch.

There you go, you answered your own question.
Most trainers I've been around know squat.

You know, the minute you let loose that you're in testing, you're no longer in testing. :eek2:

I used a Sony Touchscreen remote for years before I got the Logitech Harmony remote. If they are testing a touchscreen remote for the DVR, better stock up on batteries. My Sony ate them like candy.

You can almost bank on the so called "trainer" being confused.

He's probably refering to the already released dvr schedualing touch screen app already released on the iPhone. LMAO

Heck most of the trainers didn't even know what swm products were much less the technology beind them even well past their use in the field.
