I currently receive the 110 and 119 satellites, but my locals are on 61.5. Will I need new equipment for locals? I am in Rhode Island.

Yes, a wing dish needs to be added to receive the 61.5 signal. as current customer they can''t install a 1000.4 dish AFAIK. Also the LNB on the existing dish might have to be changed out.

Current customers can get a 1000.4 dish for the Eastern Arc. I have been a Dish customer for about 8 years and they replaced my 1000.2 with a 1000.4 last month. I did have to call them about 6 times and I told them they were not going to put up a wing dish for my HD locals. I finally told them that if they insisted they were going to put up a wing dish then I was going to switch to DirecTV. I got a 1000.4 in less than a week.

Guess it all depends on how you talk to them. Were your IRDs ready for EA or did they send new cards too?

They sent me a smart card for my ViP622. Without the card I could not get anything off 72.7W, only 61.5 & 77.

This all depends on the equipment he has in place.

To move to an EA 1000.4 setup, he must have all ViP series receivers as 72.7 only transmits in MPEG4. Then he must have the new smartcard from Dish.
