Ok..true..I guess I missed the "we will launch Univision East HD by the end of April 2010." press release...follow through on your commintments. I think we could have waited for this channel and tried to honor what you said on paper for ESPNU HD by giving us ESPNU HD channel first...but, it doesn't work that way...oh well...maybe, maybe they will have ESPNU HD up by September.:nono2:

I am glad Directv is finally adding CSN Bay Area , CSN California and WGN America as full time HD channels in May. Me and every DTV fan have been waiting for those channels to go full-time hd for a long time.

Speak for yourself. I'm a DTV fan and I could care less about some RSN's that I will never watch. There are plenty of other stations I'd rather see lit before any more RSN's.

While I'm sure they'll be launched in May, there's an equal chance it could be some time after it as well.

While I agree both channels were better on their own, merging them was a necessary evil. Both channels were in terrible shape at the time. TechTV almost went bankrupt with the 9 hour long live show TechLive that was barely watched. G4 had too many expensive shows that were watched by few. While few shows survived the merger, their ratings are higher then ever now. Sure they have crap like Cheaters and Cops on a lot but these shows bring in big money that helps pay for their original content. They also put Cops on before their original shows hoping channel surfers will stay tuned afterward and check out one of their shows for the first time. If you have a DVR then you don't even have to bother with these shows. Leo Laportes shows on TWiT and Kevin Roses shows on Revision3 find a bigger audience on the internet rather then struggling to get ratings on TV.

If TechTV had put Morgan Webb to better use there'd be no need for a merger or for a Cheaters marathon.

Please no HD Boomerang. There are no shows on that channel that were mastered in HD. Only a few of the CinemaScope Tom & Jerry cartoons were in a letterboxed format. Most exist only on videotape, not film. Cartoon Network's stretch-o-vision is not needed here. If Cartoon Network had taken the time to convert their vast, vast, vast library of Warner Bros. and Hanna Barbera cartoons to HD, then it would be worth it. Since only their newest shows are in HD (and even then, when repeated are in stretch-o-vision), it is not worth it to make Boomerang HD. I would love it if they treated the source material with the care and love that we all have for the shows. Since they don't, lets save HD bandwidth for channels that will use it.

I don't think it was a necessarily evil. Comcast owned G4 and I distinctly remember hearing that G4's purchase, merger (remember G4TechTV?), then weed out of TechTV, was all about getting G4 carriage on DirecTV (since TechTV had a deal to be on DirecTV, but G4 didn't and couldn't get a deal).

I don't think Boomerang is available in HD. I Googled it but nothing came back.

I believe they could not work out an agreement with MSNBC before the olympics, not to malign NBC, but I would bet they wanted more for MSNBC right before the olympics than after, I mean hockey in HD is one thing, but do we really need Olbermann and Maddow in HD and before anyone makes a political assumption, we don't really need Hannity or O'Reilly in HD in HD either.
