I loved Morgan.........
I am also happy to see WGN HD and any RSNs which we don't yet have being added. As for your comments, you don't have to criticize what other people would like to see.
Miss a mortgage payment like me and the month just flies by.
Well... I just read the one program ("The Legend Of The Seeker") I wanted WGN America HD for has been cancelled.
They don't syndicate that in your area in HD? We get it here on local channels.
WALB which airs that program in my DMA does not have the ability to offer syndicated HD yet... nor the other channels in my DMA.
I can pick up channels from other DMAs as well, but only one of them has the ability to offer syndication in HD.
I have HD DNS feeds for CBS-HD East and ABC-HD East, but neither one offers that program either.
A quick look at Zap2it.com shows that the only other programming WGN America offers in HD that I watch is "Bones"... which I don't really watch reruns of (at this time), and I can already get that on TNT... or in the case of Season Four, on Blu-ray.
Because a lot of people watch Univision? The world cup is going to be available on the Univision family of networks this summer and they are broadcasting in HD for the first time in Spanish this summer.
Officially the World Cup is supposed to be carried 100% live and in HD by ESPN/ABC. I'm doubtful that the World Cup is a major consideration in adding the new HD channels.
I think it is. I don't speak Spanish but here where I live there is a lot of people who don't speak English and would love to watch the cup in their language. Directv is also advertising the World Cup coverage in Spanish in the local Spanish newspapers here.
So adding Univision is a good Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal!
Enough people watch it to justify adding it ahead of any of several other HD feeds?
Considering that "Spanish is the primary language spoken at home by over 34 million people aged 5 or older. There are also 45 million Hispanics who speak Spanish as a first and second language and there are 6 million Spanish students, making it the world's second-largest Spanish-speaking community..."
I think Univision HD has an audience.
Enough people watch HD PPVs that you need 29 channels? Sometimes channel choices don't make sense.
(Although it is easier to drop a PPV for a temporary use than a real channel.)
The largest legal minority group in the country happens to be Hispanics...most of whom speak Spanish. Adding Univision just makes sense.
Back when they would drop TNT-HD for sports it got a lot of complaints.
About 25 Cinema HD is needed to cover part-time needs. The peak is Sunday afternoon in the Fall/Winter.
**presents James with red card**
Saying that everyone is happy with the addition of those RSN's is completely false, there are plenty of us that could care less about RSN's that we'll never watch.
And on the flip side there are plenty of people who couldnt care less about the general audience HD channels getting added but at giddy with joy about all those RSN's going full time HD so they get to see all the games on their expensive out of market packages in glorious HD.
I hope DirecTV puts aside a few more slots for temporary HD channels like over the air HD games and canadian hockey in HD.
The Outdoor channel in HD would be nice. I work in a market that still does not have local HD channels(Lansing MI). Does anybody have any idea when this will happen?
