Is there a way? It must be possible...?
Nope, there is no way
Could you explain your situation more fully?
Just to be sure, you mean C31/C41 clients?
Nah....Go outside and smoke a blunt. C41-700's are the worst. They just boot up not authorized and need two flashes. You have time for a doobie in addition to the blunt.
The more advanced DirecTv gets with their equipment, the more being an installer sucks.
Drug references aside, there is no way to force software onto a client.
man.... dont give me ideas.....!rolling
Yes, any client (31 or 41). It's just that... often the notification that a software download is pending will lock up the receiver if you happen to be programming a remote at the time. Also, sometimes the client reverts back to IR after a software download - meaning all the clients are totally broken if the remotes happened to be set to RF. It's caused at least a few service calls recently. You need to go back to each client with an IR remote, and re-configure them to RF again.
You are not supposed to "configured" the C41 clients until they have downloaded the latest FW. Pretty sure this will get "fix" as the FW progresses
Or just reset the RC71 remote... Or just don't set it up until after it downloads! You know like how the training you should be getting told you to?!?
Time is money my friend. If I can't force a software download on the clients, I'm left twiddling my thumbs just hoping it does (download). If I wanted to spend 3-4 hours on a job site, I'd be working for Dish.
Does every thread here require multiple accusations of wrong doing? It seems like a theme.
Attitude is attitude, my friend. Often hard to read online, so people may well misinterpret that, among other things.
then you might want to start looking for a job a DN, as we have mentioned, there is no way to force the FW download on the clients
