There is a new series of Mythbusters episodes starting tonight.

And, I don't care what people say.... it is an entertaining, yet informative show.... even if it is "for science!"

    I agree 100%.
You left out that you can actually learn something once in a while from watching them.

I've liked the show in the past but it's seemed to lose steam the last few seasons.

I'm not wild about their methods and that puts their conclusions in question.

I actually thought they had run out of myths and that the show was dead.

It's nice to see it back, I wonder what new myths they will test this season.

Maybe that's the myth they're trying to bust - the myth that they've run out of myths!

I have to agree with you. I personally lost my taste for the show when they started taking on Hollywood. There was still a slew of real myths that could have been tackled before selling out and making some of the more recent garbage.

I've already seen the episode airing tonight .. Couple of really good myths and there is one heck of an explosion in this one.

    .... and poor buster :nono2:

If they just blow something to smithereens each week, I'll keep watching. :)

I love this show, and I enjoy watching it with my 8-year old son.

I enjoy watching the show too, but I think they are running out of ideas.

The upcoming duct (duck?) tape episode looks interesting though.

I caught the end of last night's episode. What myth were they testing with the gun & bullet drop?

Thanks to this thread I will be able to find a repeat of the first episode of the season and set a series record, I don't know what happened to it but it seems to have disappeared from manager.

Hopefully Adam will stop doing his impersonations. Hope I spelled that right.

It wasn't a myth though, it's just plain physics. But, I liked that they actually showed it to us. It was a cool stunt and I enjoyed watching how they set it all up. I told them through the screen that the electromagnet wouldn't work though. They eventually heard me. Through time and space and all that.

And the sock one.... they missed it on that. Legs flex and tighten when the body is hit. Busters feet stayed the same. It's the action of the foot and ankle flexing while being hit that lets people slip out of their shoes/socks. Unfortunately, I've seen it happen. Luckily, no one died. They were just having too much fun with the nitrogen cannon. Which was awesome.

I think Adam needs to remember how to talk, He's a good Mythbuster, not such a good actor.

    Loved the cannon.
