    CBC/Radio-Canada, Standard Radio and Sirius have filed an application proposing a new Canadian-controlled company that will offer Canadian subscribers 100 digital audio channels, including commercial-free music channels as well as news and sports programming. Four CBC/Radio-Canada services also will be added to the Sirius lineup in the United States. More HERE.

    Late last week, a Quebec court sentenced two brothers - Hanan and Joshua Lis - to 60 days in prison and a $25,000 fine for their alleged roles in a satellite TV piracy scheme. More HERE.

    On Wednesday, the FCC will conduct an auction for three non-full CONUS DBS orbital slots: 175 degrees, 166 degrees and 157 degrees. Two entities - EchoStar and Cablevision's Rainbow DBS unit - have been cleared to participate. More HERE.
