Thursday was a big day for the Satellite Home Viewer Extention Act. Key legislation was passed that would allow satellite TV providers to deliver a network high-def feed to distant network customers. It also addressed the issue about using two dishes to receive local channels. More HERE.

DBSTalk now features RSS! Using very simple software, you can have all DBSTalk topics that interest you delivered right to your desktop. When you see something interesting, click the headline and you'll be whisked to the original thread.

There are many types of RSS readers but an easy one to load and use is Feedreader. It's basically a tool that keeps in touch with the DBSTalk forums and alerts you to anything that is posted in your forum of interest.

If you have any questions on how to setup your reader, please ask in THIS THREAD.

Many thanks to Sam Patterson for suggesting this feature. It's definitely a time saver!

Something we forgot to mention yesterday that doesn't affect everyone but is still interesting. Dish announced a multi-year carriage agreement to deliver Altitude (a sports network), with its coverage of regional NHL, NBA and other games, to sports fans in 10 states via DISH Network. More HERE.

    Have a great weekend!
