Of course it doesn't. I'm about ready to quit DTV after 15 years if this doesn't get resolved soon.

The dispute is also one of the reasons we will likely get rid of DTV as well.

The station mapping for Buffalo, NY is all messed up, so my LCC is useless. I called and complained and said I wanted money to cover my purchase or CBS All Access and they gave me $25, so at least I'm covered for 3+ months.

They said to call back if it's not settled by then.

And then switch providers again when your new provider goes through the same BS?

The problem is that in some markets, they have three to four stations including CBS and FOX for football blank right now. I know some long time D* people leaving due to blackouts.

They won't escape the blackouts with someone else, they'll just see them sooner because stations stagger their contracts so they aren't all up at the same time. They flee to Comcast, Comcast may be in a dispute with them at this time next year.

Directv can't really care about people who leave for reasons like that, because they know there's a good chance they'll be back when their new provider hits the same speedbump.

Whereas people who see a too large yearly increase next February due to not negotiating hard enough on renewals are less likely to ever return.

Normally, I would agree, but the technology is changing and one of those anecdotal voices is going to YouTube. The transition from Directv to AT&T TV will be more difficult with so many fights going on. Do not forget the real damage Dish suffered in the constant fights. It is one of the reasosn that Directv financially was the winner for so long.

I mean, I'll go to streaming if I have to. FuboTv and YoutubeTv are looking good right now.

They're not immune to this - they also have contracts that expire.

Nextstar negotiates their own carriage separately from CBS.

Yes, it seems CBS owned stations struck a deal conveniently with NFL preseason games start tonight. Though, for us going longer without CBS because, of Nexstar went black on July 4th.

Clearly something is up because our local Koin station that has had the music playing along with the screen with what's happening on it is now gone. Now it's just a black screen.

KOIN is owned by Nexstar. I'm afraid you won't see KOIN until the Nexstar dispute is settled.
