In what it called a restructuring, the National
Football League eliminated the business side
that was handling its Sunday Ticket business.

Eight of 10 NFL employees who worked on the NFL's
Sunday Ticket business were let go last week, NFL
spokesperson Greg Aiello said. Two positions were
assigned to the broadcast/operations side of the
NFL, which handles TV functions with ABC, CBS,
FOX and ESPN.

Aiello said DirecTV, which obtained multi-year
rights to the package in December, will take over
marketing, pricing, promotions and administration
of the Sunday Ticket package. NFL Sunday Ticket
delivers up to 14 televised out-of-market games
each weekend.
