Just called. Called retention did not get anything so I asked the rep about the VIP team She stated they would have better offers and I would put my account in pending cancellation. Was transferred told the rep what I was asking for. Help with bill and interest in Sunday ticket. He immediately stated he could give me Sunday ticket max for free. Also with 12 month commitment a discount of $37 off for 12 months plus if I enrolled in automatic bill pay another $10 off a month. Now I am happy.

Just called. 20+ year customer. 800-288-2020 number. Asked for Customer Loyalty. Received NFL ST for free. No contract. On a side note, my $60 off for 12 mos. just expired. Received NFL ST Max for $102. Received $7 off Starz and Showtime for 6 mos. Out of pocket $18. Will call back for 12 mos. deal later. They could only give me $5 off a month for 12 mos.

It was actually easier than prior years. As I indicated in a post a few pages back, I wasn't even going to try this year. Glad I did. The rep did mention that not everyone's account automatically offers the NFL ST for free, but mine did. Go figure.

Cool. It wasn't clear to me last night but I see now the 1 year commitment is for the monthly discount. I have been reluctant to do the Autopay because I can't choose my due date like the website keeps saying, but with my discounts (If they honor them) I won't have to pay a bill for the next 2 months so I might do it for the $5. I just didn't want 2 payments made in same cycle.

Yeah, I get so tired of that. I have called several times to get nothing. Hubby called last night & was told $12.25 off ST, then get to VIP to be given Max free. It's that lying that is the problem.

Yes, I just told the retention rep I was told to ask for the vip rep. So they transferred me as if I was going to cancel.

I really feel like Directv just got rid of or lost their reps and replaced them with At&t reps. I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to explain to these idiots that the guy who added ST to my account yesterday didn't remove it so now my credit balance is $47.50 lower than before. And the reason for that is because the rep who gave ST Max to me added a bunch of stuff to my account then credited/removed everything, which gave an extra $1.49 credit. They keep telling me I received a credit already for it. Yes, I did. But I also was charged twice. So stupid they can't comprehend & argue with you like you're making it up. It is beyond stupid that what we see on our account isn't the exact same thing they can see.

So I finally got someone who understood what the charge was & said credit would appear in 1-2 cycles. When I asked her to notate the account she said it's policy they don't because Loyalty should know. I then told her of the times I was lied to & hubby was in background not sounding too happy. She credited the amount because said it would take awhile to have system do it.

Was told by rep I talked to that if a customer calls in and is belligerent or does the " DTV sucks" deal with CS then they will not get any discounts or bare minimum. Don't need to kiss butt, but be respectful with CS and good things may happen......

Lol. On every call to them I get a rep that we will literally have at least a 30 minute conversation about all kinds of things and still get nothing. Guy last night told my husband that some people call & are yelling, he seems like a nice guy. I think there are a lot of people who call & are nice but get nothing. I never do threaten to cancel or say I'm looking at Spectrum, other than 1 time, and neither way made a difference. But it's like some people say that it just depends on the rep.

To be honest. Mentioning cancelling service, or switching to another provider offering a better deal. Shouldn't be something that hurts a customer. As long as you're a customer in good standing with them, and have been with them for a while. When calling it's their job to try to help you, and keep you as a happy customer, as long as you're not rude to them.

I will be calling them on the 14th, as my $60 discount runs out on the 13th. I plan to tell the rep/'s i speak with. I need to get a similar discount, because if not, i will have to look at switching providers. Due to cost being crazy high, and being able to get equal service, at a rate near what i was paying with the $60 credit i was receiving.

Which in my case, the $60 credit i get pretty much just cancels out my monthly box, and whole home dvr service. Which i have paid for, for a long time now. The boxes in my home are several years old now as well. So it's very likely i have paid off these boxes, and they're likely just pocketing that money at this point. So to keep me as a happy customer, they should be open to balancing things out with a monthly credit.

I would be very happy if they are able to offer me a $50-60 credit for 12 months, to replace the expiring credit. Be nice if i could get them to throw the Max upgrade in free as well. I don't mind paying for NFLST, if i get my current credit re-added. Hopefully things work out when i call them late next week.

Good point! Up until the beginning of this year I think I was paying $45 in equipment so $540 a year they got for 7 years, now $35 a month. That is almost $4000. I'm not sure how much they cost but should be paid off. And they shouldn't care about the package either when they're the ones who talk you into lowering the package to avoid giving a discount. That's why I don't like when they bring up wireless discounts I'm getting.

Well i actually looked up my local cable provider offering recently. Over 24 months, i would be paying around a max of $150 a month, around $130 for 12 months.

Which would include boxes, DVR service, and their top tv package, including all movie channels, plus NFL Redzone. Only negative is no NFLST, which we all know is exclusive to directv.

Currently my tv package with directv isn't their top package. As i was forced to drop it down, as they wouldn't help offset the regular price for it last year. So i went down, and added only two sets of the movie channels. Which lowered my bill like $30 at the time.

However i'm now at the point of my bill jumping to well over $200+ a month, once my $60 credit drops off in a little over a week. There's no way i pay that much every month, just for tv service, without any sports package included. Ultimately i hope the rep i speak with next week, is willing to help. As i rather keep things the same, however monthly cost is key. We will see how much they value long term customers, as i have been with them for a long while now, and have always paid them on time.

I've been with them for 21 years. I called 6 times best offer is 16 off and 5 bucks a month for a year. It's like my account is flagged, on Loyalty rep was ready to shut me off when I told him ST is the only reason I have DTV. I'll try the VIP route. Isn't this weekend a free view?

Up date. Went through the VIP. Got Max Free and 37/month. Had to sign up for a year contract. No biggie.
I'm happy. Took a total of 8 times. With ATT its different. Good luck

Made second call today. Said I don't have my local Fox channel, so missing NFL games. Rep offered $20 off a month, no NFLST offers available. She said she could add it to my account in 1 full shot to see if anything was available but wasn't sure if she could remove it. I said no.
Then, I asked her if $20 off affected my contract status, she said no. I said I wasn't sure, but it was already added. She said to try again next week.
I have a chance to get NFLST streaming for $80 since my daughter is in college. I told the rep that. Nada.
I'll try again next week but if I don't get a decent NFLST deal, I have to admit YouTubeTV so I get Fox and the NFLST streaming is a decent and cheaper option.

This happened to me before too. Took about 7 calls and 4 hours to get everything straightened out. It happens when they charge you for NFL ST and then you ask for Max. Instead of adding it as an "add-on", they give you the entire package again. It was incredibly frustrating.

I told a friend at work to call after I received a deal. He's a long-time customer, premium package and after one phone call of 30 minutes, received NFL ST for free along with $50 off a month for 12 mos. There are deals to be had out there. The roulette wheel has just become a little more weighted in the house's favor.

Same for me. Long time customer, but never had anything free or discounts except for when moving. After reading this thread, thought I'd give it a shot. After being on hold and all the contact info was given, it was less than 2 minutes and I had free NFL ST. Didn't get as much offered a month as I would have liked, but I'll try that again some other time.
