NFL ST 2019 ???

    I know there are two threads discussing ST deals (and I did suggest to the Mods early on that they combine the two), but no need to post the same thing in both threads. Please?

    These carriage disputes are happening so often now I'm looking into getting an OTA antenna installed. It won't help if ESPN gets dropped, but at least I'll still have the locals.

    There is if a) they didn't combine the 2 threads and b) if everyone doesn't read both. You are making an assumption that everyone who is posting on this thread is reading/posting on the other. Is it really a big deal if someone posts information 2 times in 2 different threads so that people can read it? Geesh. Clearly if people are asking questions about ST discounts in both threads then some are clearly not reading both threads.

    Glad I got the OTA from Directv the same day CBS came back. I didn't set it up yet. I think for Directv they really hold no leverage. The channels they are in dispute with will offer their own streaming capability as an option or like CBS I was able to watch my shows on their website for free, but if I have to start streaming everything else Directv becomes obsolete.

    The blackout of the first half of the Chiefs-Jaguars game was not due to CBS. I went back and watched the Redzone Channel on my DVR and they were doing live look-ins of the game throughout the first half, starting a few minutes after the start of the game and continuing until just before halftime. The entire first half of the game telecast on the NFLST was blacked out on my DVRs with a message indicating it wasn't available in this area, not that there were technical difficulties. It came back on at the start of the second half. If there was a problem with the CBS feed in the first half, DirecTV wouldn't have been able to show it on RZC.

    Big Fail for me today on getting any deal for ST.

    First called the "VIP" number (lol) which was actually my first mistake as it is not really for VIP, it's for those cancelled accounts that want to reestablish. The background noise from the other cubicles was the deciding factor that she was right and I couldn't get anywhere with her. She had that "collections" type attitude from jump street. She forward my call to the right place, I guess, because I hung up after being on hold for the high volume of calls tape.

    Ended up with the 9077 call to get through. The lady was very pleasant and took care of my credits, wiped the stupid protection plan off and took care of swapping my wired genie out for a wireless at no charge. I forgot to specify I wanted a 4k one, but whatever. All in all, my bill goes down $15 and a 1 year commitment for the $60/12 month deal. I asked her 3 times very nicely if there was anything showing for ST because I told her I would buy the Max for $100 if they gave me ST. No joy Maverick. Happy but sad I guess. I will try next week as I ran out of charm pouring on the last person!

    Not bad for that number. I don't know why you had problems with the VIP number. It was probably the rep. None of us who have got to that department had canceled accounts. We were/are current customers. But you got half of what we got except the free ST or Max.

    I contacted DirecTV about the blackout of the Chiefs-Jaguars game on NFLST. After being transferred a couple of times and finally asking for a supervisor, I was told the game was one of several that were blacked out in error due to a software issue, which he said has been addressed. There's no way to know if that's the truth, but I guess we'll see what happens this week.

    With the Rams game against the Saints scheduled for doubleheader coverage on local TV this weekend, now I have to hope Fox doesn't overrun the start of the game with bonus coverage.

    Well I had multiple convo's with reps today. I mentioned VIP, and was told that's for customers who are cancelling. Pretty much a refusal to connect me with that department. I asked about NFL ST multiple times, and mostly what I got in response was asking me about lowering my programming.

    Which was a slap in the face, as just a year ago I was a premier customer for multiple years with them. However they're refused to offer any discount for that package for me. So I ended up going thru my programming with a rep. I think I went down to the choice package, and added two movie channels. Which lowered my bill by like $30. So at this point, I'm at the lowest programming package, that fits me. At this point, it comes down to me switching to another provider. If they can't offset monthly cost with some credits.

    I ended up getting my billing period end date, of each month. Also the last rep I spoke with, told me I'm not in a contract with them currently. Yet he said he had no sunday ticket offers available to me. I told him at this point. I will call next week, and see if anything changes. If not, I will ask for them to set my cancel date for the last day of my billing period. Which will give them a couple weeks to offer me something, if not, I'm done with them. As just yesterday I had a $60 credit end, so one of my upcoming bills will jump up $60, and stay that way. With the way things are going.. I can't trust they will offer me a similar credit in the near future.

    Finally I have been with them since 07, which I feel is a good amount of time. I have always paid my bills on time, and I still have their current original genie system. Which I feel I have had for 5-7 years now. Never asked for a replacement box either. From a customer standpoint, I have treated DTV damn good since I have been with them. However since this ATT takeover, their whole customer support has went to **** imho.

    Lastly I told them I am leaning hard at switching to my local cable provider. I don't feel that should be a negative on me, from their point of view. Just a customer letting them know how they feel they're being treated, and how I feel cost is becoming unreasonable. Every time I contact support, it states the exchange is being recorded. We will see if someone actually reviews them, besides when a complaint is filed. Also the rep told me, if you disconnect service with them, you're not considered a new customer for TWO YEARS. I literally wanted to laugh. ATT better hope they keep that NFL contract, because if not. They're burning down DTV as a service.

    As things stand right now, come the middle of next month, I will be switching to my local cable provider. As I will only being paying a extra $130 for first 12 months, and $150 for the following 12 months, on top of what I pay them for internet service. For their top channel package, which includes all movie channels, plus redzone. Also including me renting five boxes, with up to 6 at a time DVR recording. Something DTV is no where near matching for a loyal longtime customer like me. I hope most of you reading this thread have better luck, this whole ATT thing is a shitshow to say the least.

    After getting ST for free, I used the chat on ATT to see if I could get discounts. The Chat couldn't do anything, but sent me to loyalty. They also couldn't find the big $60/month discount which had come off my bill (along with the 4 $7/month for premium channels). He suggested calling a month from today and ask again. In the meanwhile, he put the 4 $7/month discounts back in and added $10/month for my internet and a one time $25 discount.

    So I'll call back in a month and see if the big offers are available.

    I got $12 per month of ST this year after a Twitter DM from AT&T Help. Talked to rep over the phone and he initially said he could NOT get me any ST deals but did give me money off on both my movie packages and my sports package. Then he called me back and said he was indeed able to give me the ST deal. Nice. Lost count of how many times I tried to ask though.

    Wow. That sounds like me to a T. I can relate to the slap in the face part because that's how I feel when they want me to lower too. I would just tell them you want VIP department because you are canceling. My husband was transferred there & he never said anything about canceling. There is a number to call for VIP that was given to someone on here. 855-407-3780
