    Sorry if I wasn't clear.

"RedZone free" means no subscription to Sunday Ticket or ST Max.
Some of us have received free access to Channel 703 - the RedZone Channel - only.
    Hope it happens again.

When I called last week there was a NFL Save dept. 1st thing out her mouth was "you're calling to cancel, right?" There was no looking, no save. I had to ask if any offers.

There is NFL Red Zone and DIRECTV Red Zone. Two different products.

I thought I read that was ended last year? Actually, I think I read even being allowed to pay for it on its own stopped last year...

Yea, but, also not. I don’t understand why they can’t offer the former on its own, even if it was only started as a substitute to their competitors...

    Hi, mjd.
I've had Red Zone free 2 of the last 3 years, including last season. The other year they gave me ST Max free.

And maybe someone else can clarify this, but I don't think DirecTV has ever "sold" RZ as a standalone product.
I know I've never paid for it.

Called to cancel the NFST auto renew. I am already receiving $40 for 12 months, the only available discount was an additional $5 off for 12 months. No Sunday Ticket discounts at this time.

When I first talked to the NFL Save department last week there was the standard $12.25 off regular and I think someone got the $16 and change off of Max. So there are discounts available for some.

First attempt, they wouldn't budge. I spend a crapload of money with AT&T (1 Gig internet, three wireless lines and Direct).....was offered $7 off showtime to offset ST. Told them I was contemplating switching providers (100% true.....as ST is really the only thing keeping me).

update from post 53 in this thread...

I called Retention this morning and was only offered $7 off for 6 months on two movie channels for a total of $14. I expressed my length of time with D*, etc., etc., and she goes on to say there’s a VIP Dept. I can transfer you to, however I would have to be placed into a pre-account cancellation status in order to speak to them. I agreed and was transferred. This portion of my call lasted about 10 minutes and I came away with free NFL ST Max for 2019, and an extra $67.00 per month off my bill for 12 months. An hour after the call I noticed I hadn’t been credited the one NFL ST Max installment that I’ve already been billed. I then called the 531-5000 number to inquire about that and that rep gave me another $20 off for 6 months in discounts on some movie channels after assuring me the initial installment charge will drop off.
Needless to say I am quite satisfied with my calls today.

Wow. I wonder what the VIP department is. And yes, they changed the way they do things so it takes a couple of days for the charge to be credited. I had the same issue when I didn't see it in my bills and transactions page.

Probably would start with that. It seems that they have broken up departments over the past year. But I'm curious if what was called VIP is a different level of Retention.

The Retention rep I spoke to brought it up to me. I was caught off guard because, after all these years of getting ST discounted, or receiving credits to offset the cost, I was certain this was the first season I’d be let down. I have no idea if asking for the VIP Dept. would work.

It’s definitely a step above retention.

I have now called three different times and even spoke to Loyalty and still am being being offered Nothing. As a 25 year subscriber you would think they might at least give me some discount off my regular programming if not ST.
Last year I got ST Max for free and $15/mo off for 12 months. Not the best deal ever but I thought things were bad last year.

I guess I'll try and gain access into the VIP area

I wonder if you getting NFL ST Max free last season is preventing you from receiving any discounts this season.
