I know I only got regular ST last year and all I got was $12.25 off. Still no deals other than that one so far.

Everyone got NFL Sunday Ticket Max at Mid Season last year because there was one week where they had problems with some of the game channels not working so they gave Max to everyone who had it.

I do remember something like that, but was that last year? That being said when my ST renewed automatically this year it was not at the Max price.

Last year I received the same offer on my bill "NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX 2019 - Charge $0/NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX 2019 HD - Charge $0" & was never charged. I didn't question it & figured I was being duped, but it was real. This year the jackals have already auto billed me $48 for ST 1st of 6 payments BS. I'll call them this week with my usual response "I need relief on my bill. I've been a loyal premiere package subscriber for 12 yrs yada yada yada. Can you throw in the ST?". I usually prep for a few days & write notes to how I'll respond to their tactics.
I honestly don't care if I have ST or not & I'll go one even further, I really don't care if I drop DirecTV. Our bill is $175-$200 a month. I could just get cable for $50 & use the extra $ towards an IRA, stocks or new Harley Davidson :D My wife would like to go to Hawaii next year, but I think a motorcycle would be more fun.

Well I called in today, as a couple weeks back I got a notice in the mail, stating this coming bill I would be auto renewed at $65.99 for 6 months. Which is full price, and no way I would be paying that.

To start it off, I logged into my account on directv, and I was now forced to convert my account to their ATT site. Which I tell you.. is terrible. The directv account setup was 10x better, then the BS way they have your account on att. I clicked the contact us on att site, and it doesn't give an option to chat with a support rep, nor does it give you a number to call. It literally just tried to give me troubleshooting FAQ, and such, BS. No area for account related issues.

I ended up opening another browser, and pulling up directv site, and getting the customer support number. As trying to access the directv site, on the current browser, just kept directing me to the att site.

After telling the auto system I wanted to cancel NFL sunday ticket. I was finally asked if I wanted to speak with an agent, which I said yes. I was on hold for about 10 minutes. Finally a lady picked up, and I told her no way I was gonna renew it at its regular price. She ended up offering me between $5-7 off both cinemax, and hbo, and I think $2 off another package I have. Then she mentioned $15 off for 6 months for NFL sunday ticket.

I ended up declining the $15 off sunday ticket, and accepted the other discounts. While $15 isn't horrible. That's still a little over $50 a month. Also I have a $60 for 12 months rolling off come middle of september. Which will push my bill up to a little over $200. Being honest, that's way to much, just for tv service. I also told the rep I wasn't happy with how my local fox channel is still not available, and football season was coming soon, and it would affect many games for me. Forcing me to need to use OTA to watch games on fox. The rep ended up tell me she was sending me out an adapter to be able to get local channels. I told her ultimately that isn't the point. The issue needs to be resolved overall.

So my current plan is to continue to call 1-3 more times in the next couple weeks, see if they offer anything better for NFL sunday ticket. Also once middle of september comes, I will be calling back to see what they can offer with the $60 for 12 month discount ending. If they can't get my bill down to a reasonable rate. I will be gone before next football season.

As I'm pretty positive, I could get my local cable company triple play package, and pay at most $200-250 a month. Which includes internet, and a home phone. I'm just done paying around $200 a month for tv service only, then on top of it. Them not wanting to offer good discounts to loyal customers for their ST package. I overall find it unacceptable, especially knowing sat tv has its disruptions when weather is bad, which can be annoying at times.

Finally I mentioned military to the lady on the phone, and the lady mentioned they offer discounts for that. Provided me a link to signup for that. I actually tried that, however it asked me military info, and a 10 digit phone number. I gave mine, which is the number I have on my account. Sadly it kept saying the number didn't match an account, or something. Which is annoying to say the least, as it isn't allowing me to complete the process. Has me wondering if ATT is requiring you to have phone number with them. If so, that's BS as well. As the military section states 25% off wireless plans, $15 off tv, and $15 off internet. Ultimately if it requires having wireless phone service with them, to get any military discount, that's another knock on them. One which will for sure help make my decision to leave them within the next few months, if things don't change, regarding monthly cost.

    Castle...
if you do end up staying and can get locals with an OTA call back and get them to send you a LCC no charge. The couple of tricks to get it set up are worth it for Sub channels alone not to mention that if you are having disputes in your area it totally gets you back to "normal"

She said she was sending an adapter out to me, so I could get my locals, as long as signal permits. Which signal should be okay where I live. She said it would be here tomorrow. I will take it, and use it if/when needed.

Ultimately me staying with Directv(ATT) will come down to what they do for me within the next month, in terms of applying discounts to lower my monthly bill. No way I will continue to pay $200-210 for tv service, $250+ with NFL ST. That is just insane prices for tv only services, that are being provided via SAT. Which reliability isn't good overall, due to weather events.

There is no military discount for DirecTV by itself. You have to have a wireless plan to get that military discount.

Well that's on the rep I spoke with, and that's bad on her part. As she knew I don't have wireless with them, yet still told me about this. She never mentioned to get the military discount, I had to have their wireless service. Anyways I appreciate your comment. Saves me from wasting time on this.

When I do call them back about NFL ST, I will ask them for a quote on wireless service. As I'm currently with Tmobile, on a family plan, with military discount. So I wouldn't mind hearing what kind of offer they have for four lines. Currently everyone on my plan is paying monthly for their phones. So to even consider switching, they would have to take care of the balances left on each phone. Plus be cheaper then my current plan total.

Yes it most certainly was last year because I never got the Max Package but they gave it last season because I forget which week it was but there were some problems with some of the Sunday Ticket Channels and that next week DIRECTV sent out E-Mails saying they were giving Sunday Ticket Max for the rest of the season to make up for that day.

So here was my experience. I decided to take a different approach than previous years. I usually take the "I will just cancel" presentation. So I call and get someone who clearly sounded complete flat when answering. I said that I was calling about my discounts and the NFL Max. I told him that rather then threaten to quit, I wanted to see what he could do. I told him of my time in with DTV, my really liking the product and service as well as the fact that I am open to paying something for the NFL ticket but not a crazy amount. He stated that I was one of the best calls he has had to deal with and he would do what he could. He came back with no discounts on my plan but could give me the NFL Max ticket for free with a 1 year commitment. He said that it would be best to call back next month when my discounts drop and to keep trying until I got what I thought would be reasonable discounts. So, very happy to get the Ticket for free. Given the fact that these Retention people get beat up each day, perhaps the kill them with kindness worked on this Rep.

OK. Called yesterday afternoon figuring I would start the dance again. Sorry for the ramble. Part of this should probably go in the AT&T crap folder but it does have something to do with ST.

Let me just say that I am a 20+ year sub. I've had ST since its inception. I've also been very lucky in that I have only had to pay more than 100 once in all these years. I got it free last year as has been the norm for me mainly due to this forum. So, kudos to the forum for up to date information.

Yesterday was frustrating to say the least. I got in a huge argument with the rep(s). I started by cancelling my Starz pack. Hey, the wife wanted to watch a certain series that was being shown so I added it for one month. Then I asked about any ST rebates or deals. Rep says nothing at the moment and to check back week 2 of the season. I figure week 1 is always free so going into week 2 I should be able to get some sort of deal. I am not looking at free either. I was offered it free last year out of the blue when I called and of course I took it.

So, I was told no deals yet but we all know how the merry-go-round works there. FYI, back about 6-7 years ago, my son worked for DTV as a CSR so I know a little on how it "used" to work when you call in. Not sure if they still do the heart levels any longer but they did at one time to show the rep the caller was a good, bad or great customer. My "heart" level was the best you could have, so according to him, I was a highly valued customer and they should do whatever they could to keep me at DTV.

I might say that since AT&T took over, it is just plain nightmarish as you will see.

Since no ST deals I said cancel me from ST. They had already charged me this month and wanted me to pay and then get a refund on next months bill. No way. I said credit my bill now. So, after minutes of waiting she comes back on and informs me that my account has been credited and that my new balance was $$$ which is like 50 higher than normal. I asked why and this is where it got ugly. Their response was that they did not know why. They, the "loyalty" dept pushed me over to billing because the rep could not figure out why my bill was so much higher than last month.

Billing? Clueless. I spent over 90 minutes on the phone trying to get my bill figured out with the ST first payment being credited back to me. We are like 40 dollars off on what I think my bill should be and what they say I owe. They told me there was a "sales tax" in South Carolina (where I live) that amounted to 25.00. Note, on my previous bill, I paid some SC tax that was 5 dollars. The rep was saying that the tax was recalculated for the new amount (ST first payment added). I said that is like a 30% tax rate! No way. Something is wrong. I tried to explain that my bill is now not the 50 something for the first ST installment so if this "sales tax" is real, it should be recalculated for my current bill that has the ST amount removed. Whaaaat? This rep was clueless and did not know what to do. The rep just continued to stonewall and say the 40 dollar mismatch in bills from last month to this month is this added tax.

OK, long story short, I asked for a Supervisor. None available. Asked for my number to call back when Supervisor was available. Never called back and I doubt they will.

Bogus to say the least. 20+ year sub and I can't even get a little respect or call back. Unless something changes at DTV with AT&T, this WILL be my last year ST or not. AT&T is just abysmal and the reps don't even care if you are happy or not. I've had some previous issues with this clown show staring AT&T and heard some horror stories from folks in here and now I have experienced it first hand with my DTV account.

I will get my bill and then call back today and try and get this sorted out but a 25 dollar "sales" tax on my bill from the state of SC? That is a new one on me.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...that is unless you are watching the NFL Network preseason games and not getting the correct preseason game.

It is possible they charged you sales tax on the full expected amount of Sunday Ticket upfront

Yeah, I don't like contingency stuff. I feel like if I had internet with them the offers would be better offers, but it's not available in my area. Not like I would get it because I have heard it sucks.

Lying is something they have added to their customer service calls. I have been lied to 3 or 4 times. It certainly doesn't endear me to Directv.

Check your recent transactions to verify. I know that it took a couple of days for credit to be added. Maybe the rep charged you for it again. I wouldn't be surprised. This month has been horrible calling.

So I just got off the phone after trying Chat and getting nowhere. Well they did offer me 1 month of Showtime, 6 months of the Movie Pack, and I think the Sports package. I said no thanks. They had me call 888-666-0027 & said that was Loyalty. I got a $35 credit off my bill. He said that with the discount rolling off this month the system hasn't generated a new deal yet, but he did say that people who call in a lot get flagged. He said some people get offers & still aren't happy so they call back everyday and lose their loyalty points. I thought that was interesting. Anyway, he said to call back around start of season and add it back, hopefully there will be offers. So with the $35 they have basically paid for the ST for me. My next goal will be the $12.25 discount. I will be satisfied with that, not happy. I will see if hubby can do better.

Anyone know if you need ST Max to get the 4K games this year? I don’t care about Red Zone, Fantasy, or streaming.
