I called tonight and the rep told me that she would put note in my account for free SF. This was 2 hours ago, and I still do not have SF on my account (per website). I guess I will wait until Sept. 7 and then call???? :eek2:
no..absolutely call back IMMEDIATELY. anytime they try to pass of that "note on the account" BS, then thats all that it is which is flippin BS. the only way you will get SF is for them to add it on to your account immediately then credit it back...period....and you should be able see it show up online on your account while ou still have the CSR on the phone...NEVER let the CSR hang up without verifynig online that its on your account...i guarantee if you call back, the next CSR you get will say "theres nothing noted on your acconut about free SF"
Got it yesterday very easily. Got my wife to call for me and she said that I was "offended" for not being offered the free SF. The CSR laughed and gave it to us with no problems...
I was just checking my account after reading this, and I did not even have to ask, they just credited me. They told me it was free and had already been taken care of. DTV is still the tops!! I've had ST for at least 8 years now....
these people are becoming a real joke.emailed directv several times,back and forth.finally spoke on the phone after several csr's told me in early july i cant get it.on wednesday the 30th of july a csr said she put me in for free.did not show up and recalled up today,csr said she could not put it on for free for me.then i complained being told 2 days earlier it was for free.she said then she would put it on for free and leave a note as to why as per my conversation.she lied ! she could and said she couldnt!then did after i complained! this company has gone to hell! sounds like a lawsuit coming up.
I did this last year and got SF for free.
Anyone here got SF for free 2 years in a row by calling and threatening to cancel?
If so I'll do it again this year.
I think they may give us one free year and thats it.
What E-mail stating that SF is free are some posters referring to here?
I have, actually this will be the third year in a row I get SF for free!

After a BAD experience this morning with the regular number, I decided to give the new number a shot this afternoon. I was pleasantly greeted by a great CSR who quickly reversed the Superfan charge, added it back at no charge and then gave me an additional $10 off for 6 months (without me asking). Awesome!
This only reiterates how the "russian roulette" of CSR and your results is still the case at Directv. It may be a pain, but thanks to message boards like this with great users, hopefully we can all keep this going until D*TV changes their "HD Superfan" Sunday Ticket policy.
I called and said I have heard superfan is free now, she said yes it was and added it. No problem. Already shows up on my account.
I am suddenly much more excited about this season, and it is getting close!!

they gave me Showtime for free for three months

I have auto renewal and have been mulling about calling since I have done this the last few years. But all it took was a call and I was very polite and asked if something could be done about the cost. She came right out and asked, "would you like superfan for free?". I said that would be nice.
She put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and stated she spoke to her supervisor and they had credited my account for superfan and I wouldn't be charged. I thankfully said goodbye and ended the phone call.
I went online and checked my "Activity since last bill" and no credit has appeared yet.
For the people that already had Superfan auto renewal, does it take a while to appear on "Activity since last bill". Am I even looking at the correct area online or is there another area.

Called for the 1st time on Friday to try to get free SF and the CSR hooked me up immediately and did all the adjustments while I was on the phone. It all immediately showed up on my account when I logged in after the call.
I am on the phone with a rep now who says that there is a current special - Pay in full ($249) and you will get Superfan Free.
some say there is some say there isnt...just depends on who you get...like always.
