    Lancaster,...
You can read the NHL CI response a few different ways, but the NHL person never says that the issue is an MSG vs. NHL issue, does she? Let's hope the issue is worked out in a matter of days b/w the two. SD hockey just plain sucks.

I emailed MSG Network and the NHL about this issue and asked that it be resolved ASAP. The lifeblood of both entities (the fans) is what suffers. Here is the response I got:

"Thank you for your email. In regards to your question, at this time MSG is not making the MSG HD feed available for DirecTV and the NHL's other partners to include in NHL Center Ice. We regret the inconvenience."

Confusing.. if the NHL was PO'd at MSG about this legal thing, why would MSG withhold it's HD feed? Or is MSG playing hardball with everyone because Dolan can? I would assume the NHL and MSG have a contract for putting MSG HD on NHL CI?

At least tonight the Pens/Rangers is available in HD on FSN Pittsburgh. It sucks on nights when the game from both teams is only available in SD.

In regards to the MSG HD issue what purpose does it serve to not make the feed available other than getting back at the NHL. I don't think Bettman gives a crap that half way through the season its not available on NHLCI. They already have their money (which is non refundable I might add) so the only ones really affected are the paying customers.

Not sure, but it looks like the SD feed of MSG-Buffalo is blacked out tonight as well, and not listed in the CI channels. What is going on? Is this channel going to be affected as well? This is getting ridiculous. :nono2:

I hope the NHL sues MSG.

DOH! Boy do I feel stupid now. :sure:

But why didn't the game search go to the NHL Network?

Thats why D* needs to mirror the NHLN and Vs. to the 700's when they have games on.

    Thanks Loudo

Agree, I have missed games before, also, because I forgot to look there o Versus for games. They should link them both to the CI 700 channels.

    Agreed,
Anybody missing games because they were telecast on Versus or NHL Net is just not paying attention or just enjoys the process of complaining.

Wow - I wonder if this will affect MLB Extra Innings.

If the NY teams arent available, there's no reason to subscribe.

    What a shame... Damn Dolans....

At the moment, Phoenix is essentially bankrupt and given poor attendance in Atlanta and I would assume both Florida teams, for Bettman to think that Dolan controlling his own website is unacceptable (which it technically is, it is a franchise after all) is the height of stupidity. The issue of website control should be Bettman's second priority with everything else about hockey, a great game without a huge fan base, tied for first priority.

The Florida teams are doing just fine, thank you. Please show us the source of your statement, regarding them.

A fair statement would maybe be that the current state of our economy is effecting attendance of all teams this year.

I thought Nashville was the bankrupt team?

That is just not a true statement. ALL TEAMS? Nope.

Do either of the Florida teams get any revenue sharing? Not asking to stir the pot, but that would be a good indicator of whether or not the Florida teams are doing "fine".

I don't know about Nashville, but there have been articles that posit that the league has had to cover the Coyotes payroll. And I did not mean to denigrate the Florida teams, I thought I read that they were not doing well revenue wise either. Further, there is a post early in this thread of a screen shot of a game in Atlanta, I watched part of it, and the stands were pretty much empty.

Yes all sports are having some issues with revenue because of the economy, but hockey suffers worse because it does not have a huge fan base. That has got to be Bettman's number one priority to address. If several teams fold that is not going to be in anyone's interest. Look at the difficulties Pittsburgh had with getting a new arena and there were stories they would have to leave town if they failed. If I remember correctly, Lemieux had to step in and buy a part of the team to keep it afloat about the time he retired for good.

Really, how does control of a website even enter into one's thinking, a pox on both Bettman's and Dolan's houses.

Does anyone else have 638 MSG-Buffalo grayed out in their guide?

    Thanks

I can't even see 638. Only 638-1 is showing up on my 2 HR20's. One on CE and the other on National Release. Not showing with Show SD duplicates off.
