Anyone else getting a non-HD picture on the HD channel for the Red Wings-Canucks game? It is clearly an HD channel as it has the bars on the side that says FSDETROITHD but to me that indicates an SD broadcast on an HD channel.

They are always blacked out. Both pregame and postgame on Directv. It has something to do with the Altitude channel and I really don't know what the issue is, but it has been that way for quite a while now. I'm not sure about this, but the Dish Network Center Ice schedule online specifically states that the pre and post games are available from Altitude, but I can't verify that as I don't have Dish. It would be strange if that were the case.

Probably because InDemand hasn't figured out that Sportsnet Ontario is on Anik F1R. The other Rogers HD channels are on F2.

Bottom line for DTV is they are too cheap to pay SBS (Shaw Broadcast Services) for all the Sportsnet/TSN/RDS HD feeds. Not enough DTV NHLCI customers complaining.

That happens on a lot of the sports networks. The game is only available in 4x3 video, so they upconvert the SD video and add the pillar bars to the sides to give you 16x9 video.

Pre and post-game always blacked out unless:

    1) It's your local RSN or
    2) You buy Sportspack

I have CI with Dish and in fact Dish does show the pregame and postgame shows that are carried on Altitude. The question I have is why don't they show all other pre and post shows for all the other teams?

Can't speak to DISH, but on D* pre and post games are always blacked out unless it's on your local RSN or you buy Sportspack. Or the guy watching forgets to throw the switch.;)

I have the Sportspack and have had it for some time now. I get all the pre and post game coverage from all teams EXCEPT Altitude. It is always blacked out. It has been that way for a couple of years now. It has something to do with Altitude. If they are in fact available on Dish and it's not your local RSN, I wonder what's up?

I know that someone on the forums know for sure about the Altitude pre and post game situation on D*. I think it has something to do with "confusing" people who think they are going to see the game by showing the pre game stuff only to be cutoff when the game begins if you don't have Center Ice...I know that sounds dumb, but I'm pretty sure that's the story. Why it's available on Dish Networks Center Ice package is beyond me.

Any one else getting "Channel not purchased.(721)" for the HD CI feeds right now? I get it on the blue jackets game and the canes game. The HD channels are greyed out in the guide too. Tried a receiver reset....

Hmm. Called customer support and they did a test and it came right back. Probably the same receiver reset from the directv page refernced earlier in the thread.

Yes I have 721 error on all HD games. Directv rep is telling me we will all be without NHLHD on Centre Ice until middle of November. He read me a script. Gave me a credit for my pain. Anyone else know anything?

My HD channels were not showing up on my guide. I did a program re-hit from the DirecTV web site and I have all my CI HD channels back.

I asked him why all my NHLCI HD stations were grayed out in the guide and I was getting "channel not purchased" error 721. He checked for about 30 seconds and started apologizing and read me a script which he said they received today. The script said nothing of value except it would be middle of Nov before I would have HD NHLCI again. I tried to ask why and he had no idea. I am hoping somebody else might be able to provide some info on this.

Going to try and find the program refresh from the directv website between periods of the Pens & Habs.

Awesome - thanks for saving me time. Could you tell when the reset happened on screen? The website told me it would take 3-5 minutes to happen. I have not seen any change so far.

Seems to be working now after reset from Directv website. What the heck was this rep talking about? I got a $20 credit for watching the 1st period in SD. Sounds fair - LOL :)
