Last year NHL Center Ice on DirecTV showed all games not on Versus and not on the NHL Network. There were usually dual feeds, but as others have pointed out the only HD feeds were from US based teams.

DirecTV showed a few of these last year but they looked horrible and were SD.

So is MSG not allowing the NHLN to show its feeds of preseason hockey? The schedule on NHLN lists preseason hockey, Rangers at Bruins, but they're showing rerun playoff hockey. Good thing I have the sports pack.

NYR Preseason game is on NHL Network Canada, not NHLNET USA. The guide is wrong.

If we can get Canadian HD broadcasts on the NHL Network why can't the NHL and NHL Network arrange so we can view Canadian HD games on NHLCI ?

Isn't the NHL involved in both NHL Network and NHLCI ?

So if the NHL and NHL network can get Canadian HD games to D* , they should be able to do the same for the D* NHLCI subs .

Dish Network still has VERSUS on channel 151 and HD. Why is it that DirecTV cannot see their way clear to provide it to THEIR subscribers?

iN DEMAND's owners are Comcast iN DEMAND Holdings, Inc., Cox Communications Holdings, Inc., and Time Warner Entertainment - Advance/Newhouse Partnership. So its a joint effort of several cable companies to provide PPV, VOD and sports packages. When I had Time Warner cable, I subscribed to NHLCI and it was through iN Demand. There were and still are no HD NHLCI channels with TW cable in the Dallas market. Some other markets have one HD channel and TW picks the game in HD.

I will be calling later this week to cancel NHL CI. The issue with VS and MSG HD means I do not get to watch most of my teams games in HD. I know DTV has nothing to do with the MSG HD issue so its reall a matter of NHL CI not DTV coverage. The NHL is stupid for sticking with VS and not getting issues with controllers of the regional networks worked out. In a few years wont need to worry about NHL CI wont be an NHL with this bunch of morons running the show

I think this is an overstatement, but here's hoping that in a few years there will be people running the league who kwow what they are doing and that hockey is being played where people will support and watch it.

Maybe if Cablevision was a part owner of In Demand, they'd make sure MSG/MSG+HD feeds were part of NHL CI. Not that I am a fan of Cablevision or the Dolans.. I am just a Rangers fan who wants to see his team in HD on MSG.

Are you sure that it was not NHL Network?
I have E* and the NHL Network comes with the CI package and they do carry some Canadian HD games like HNIC and some TSN in fact they have been showing some preseason games from TSN lately.

I'm a Penguins fan, but I canceled Center Ice as well due to Versus and MSG HD not being available. I'll probably just get the sports pack that way I will get FSN Pittsburgh full time and don't have to worry about the game being cutoff on the Center Ice channels.

I want to see hockey and I want it in HD period. It's time for the NHL to take ownership of it's content and do whatever it takes to provide all games in HD (when possible). The MSG HD fiasco is completely asinine. The MSG coverage is second to none in the US and cover arguable the best division in hockey. The NHL should be embarrassed that they cannot provide MSG HD on Center Ice. I will not resubscribe to Center Ice until these issues are resolved.

If you are in the Pittsburgh home area you should get FSN Pittsburgh without getting the Sports Package. You could also have been watching all of the Pens games on FSN Pittsburgh, instead of the CI channel, and not have to worry about any cut offs. If you are not in the Pittsburgh home area, getting the Sports Pack will still black you out of their games.
