was the fact that bertuzzi fought twice in one game, the first time in 4 years, can you make a comparison to the wings/avs brawl in 97.

the game before game in 97, the wings got handled by the hawks in a game in chicago pretty easily both physically and on the scoreboard. 6-2 or something like that.

The wings were pretty flat in the game yesterday until after the 2nd fight and then woke up and took care of business.

if i was one of the top dogs, i would be more worried about anaheim than anybody else. Even with Emery in the pipes, they can do some serious damage and he was in a final a few years ago with the sens, losing to the ducks.

Is Vancouver as good as their record? I've only seen them verse Detroit. I'm not as hardcore as you guys...I have CI just for the Wings.

I agree. How hard would it be for them to put up a mix channel for hockey? They do it for football, baseball, golf, and for the sports and news mixes, it can't be that hard, could it?

They are very good but will that translate to playoff success I don't know. Seems like a top team always gets knocked off early on and my money's on them to be.
They face either Ana. or Chi. and it will be very tough for them. Especially Ana.
I think they're a dark horse to come out of the western conference.

You have to keep in mind, that not all hockey fans have NHLCI and can just switch over to any game. I would imagine the majority of NHL fans live in their hometown and watch a local RSN for their teams game. So NHLN and VS are the only way for them to see other games. And has been mentioned, they should put the best match up on those national channels, so the majority of hockey fan can watch a good game.

With the really low ratings for NHL hockey on most RSN's.The NHL should appeal to NHLCI crowd and use the CBC HD feed every Sat Night on NHLN.

If fans want to see the best game of the night, they should get NHLCI :)

using your twisted logic, wouldnt the ratings for the nhl network also suck then.

stop using the nhl network as a feeder system for hnic.

the nhl has said by their actions you want to see hnic, you need to have centre ice. period. end of story.

it isnt going to change. the second game has been gone for 2 years and the first game is being weeded out. i expect to see it even less next year.

The best game of the night on saturday was buffalo and washington. they made the right decision.

toronto/ottawa was a meaningless game that most casual hockey fans do not care about, which is who the nhl network caters to. hardcore hockey fans are catered to with centre ice.

If you reread post 2376,I wrote-"The NHL Network US has a low number of of subs and very low ratings " No twisted logic, just logical conclusions.

Since HNIC is one of the better productions of NHL games and isn't available to the majority of us hockey fans in the USA in HD. I hope and think they should continue to show the early game in HD on NHLN.

I don't want the NHLN to pull a Sat night HD game off NHLCI . I prefer to choose which team's announcers I want to hear and which RSN has the best PQ. I don't want someone at Comcast/NHLN picking a game causing me to lose those choices NHLCI gives me.

its already happened and will continue to happen. that is reality. It is the NHL network, not CBC. If you want CBC you need to watch centre ice or get a canuck dish.

Good, Put me in the camp that hopes to see the HNIC on the NHL Network every Saturday.

I'm not interested one iota about the Non Center Ice or Casual Hockey fans take.

I just enjoy the Coverage and Production values of the CBC Telecast in HD as much as possible.
