Comcast is looking AT SDV to get the room as for all likely it will be ALL CSN + the FSN's that are on comcast systems (part of a other comcast plan) but ALL? maybe 1 feed per game with a few dual feeds but SDV can only go so far.

Maybe WGN HD and Canada HD games but with other OTA games only if they are the only feed and may HD.

But as last year cocmast was not even able to get NHL extra in HD on there OWN CSN channels useing CSN feeds.

if fios ever gets the center ice hd coverage that direct tv has then goodbye direct tv for me. i'll let the good people of this msgboard raise the banners and fight the good fight for getting comcast sportsNet philadelphia while i actually get to watch it.. it's not like i live in the middle of the country and have no other options available to me.. i hate to say(because i do love the quality PQ and service direct tv provides) it but direct tv is doing me as a philadelphian no favors. i don't see them doing sheet in the fight to get CSN. seems like all talk on their part. i'm sick of talk... we'll probably see the israeli/palastinian two state solution come into peaceful fruition before direct tv actually sees CSN on their system.

plus: i'll finally be able to watch my sub channels. antenna viewing is not an option living in urban philadelphia... i love the the phialdelphia union and so far have not been able to view most of the games that are locally being broadcast(on 6ABC.2) without going the internet route... boo to that as well.

What exactly do you want them to do? It's not like Comcast has shown any interest ever in giving them access and this is a 15 plus year dispute. The only hope right now is for enforcement of the FCC's ruling closing the terrestrial loophole.

It's a Comcast caused problem, not a DirecTV caused problem.

one week away from the opener and no schedule for nhl ci and nhl network games. As always the nhl is trying to piss people off. This is the lazyiest sports organization and they have no clue. I expect the age average in the nhl headquarters to be 73 years old.

I am curious to see the schedule, but I don't see why it would piss anyone off. So long as they release the schedule the day before the season opener...no big deal.

I hear all of that but there is still a reason philadelphians stay away from direct tv like it's the plague(quite literally). They don't care that they can watch csn dc, csn bay area or plethora of other rsn's with the option to purchase the hd sports provided on those channels for a little extra money like i currently do in my home.. I want Philly sports and I'm tired of having to use stream torrent/sopcast to watch something(phillies/flyers) so integral to the fabric of this city. For the most part I'm no DBS hobbyist and could care less weather speed network is changing from d11 to d12 this week. Most philadelphians don't care either and I'm starting to want to follow that local heard away from direct tv... All this bull we have to deal with because of the NFL makes me wish the league would let comcast and fios have at it already.

The Thrashers still haven't released their tv schedule. The Blues still haven't announced their HD tv schedule. Their might be more teams, but you would have to think that the stations know what games they are going to broadcast, why not just release the schedule already?

I would SO love to be wrong, but I fear you are right. The only HNIC late games that were shown on the NHL Network last year were the first Saturday of the season and on "Hockey Day in Canada". This year, we don't even no for sure that they are showing the first game.

Maybe they will surprise everyone and at least just show both games in HD. They don't need to be on NHL network but at least just show both games in HD.

here is nhl networks saturday oct 9 schedule the time slot of 730 / 830 is open. but notice 1100 is nhl on the fly so that means no game 2 on nhl n but will be on NHL CI

I have to believe that the above schedule will change. I certainly hope so. Otherwise maybe they're going to do a 1/2 hour delay?

Sorry if someone else posted this but here is the HNIC schedule for Oct. 9 from cbc.ca Note the 3pm game from Sweden. They showed the Saturday afternoon games rather consistently last year, although I'll probably be blacked out of this one since I'm in the Columbus tv market. Then again, that one is not on tv in the US and the Jackets havve been very good about dropping the blackout rule when FSO isn't doing the game. We shall see.

    Saturday, October 9

3 p.m. ET Columbus at San Jose
6:30 p.m. ET Scotiabank Hockey Tonight
7 p.m. ET Ottawa at Toronto
7 p.m. ET Montreal at Pittsburgh
10 p.m. ET Los Angeles at Vancouver

And don't forget that HNIC has games on Thursday Oct. 7 as well.

Complete schedule is at this link

But again, that is Comcast's doing, not Directv's. I'm sure if they could change it DTV would love to keep those Philly subscribers. The signal belongs to the Flyers and Comcast and they won't share it.

I mentioned this above but not directly. I believe it is the individual teams' choice. I'm in Columbus' territory (west of Cleveland) and for the past two seasons for the five or so away games that were only shown on the opposing team's RSN the Blue Jackets lifted the blackout and made some noise about it on their website.

That would be "Vin Scully." He's been doing Dodger games since they were still in Brooklyn, so I would have to say that you are liable to having your critics association card cut up.

For me, the difference isn't if the announcer is a homer or not. There have been great homers and great straight story guys. But the most important thing, especially in hockey, is getting it right. The most infuriating thing for me is an analyst who doesn't pay attention to the replay when the replay is obviously showing that his comment is incorrect. (Are you listening Tim McCarver?)

Yes, and little hope things have improved on Canadian feeds in HD. Looks like CBC is still SD. HNIC in SD is a disgrace in 2010-11 season. Can you imagine MNF, ESPN Sunday Night Baseball or TNT NBA being in SD. NHL should not allow this to happen. They should force Directv to fix it.
