Anything is possible and I would like to think that could happen. Just hard for me to believe that adding them would make much of a difference. I guess if it resulted in more Canadians ordering DIRECTV, then it might pay off. Another alternative is that they could add Canadian HD feeds and raise the price to the level NFL ST @ $299/ season. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.

I haven't been getting the audio dropouts much in the past. Although it was quite prevalent in the VS game last night. Its rather annoying, but at least its not that Brrrrpppp we were getting last year.

Yes......the two games looked a bit on the lousy side last night in SD but DirecTV is giving you more than most then most other places give you. I have been subscribing to Center Ice for many years with my local cable company and this is my first year with DirecTV. My old cable company just now has 2 HD channels in the Center Ice package (only had 1 HD channel for the past three years) and those games are the more popular teams at the time. Otherwise everything was in SD. No dual feeds either so you were stuck with what ever feed they gave you for each game. Sometimes it was home and sometimes it was the visitor. The SD picture quality in last nights games was pretty much what I was accustomed to with the SD games with my old cable company.

I am personally looking forward to the Center Ice on DirecTV. Many games in HD and most with a dual feed so I can listen to Mickey Redmond and the gang!! Based on my many years with Center Ice via TW I am seeing this as a vast improvement.

Saw this get tweeted last night. Sucks to be a Wings fan in Michigan and a Dish customer: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/10/red_wings_games_not_available.html.

I did for a while during both games. It would come and go.

I had lots of dropouts and very choppy video on both of my HR20's for a while. The problem went away after about 20 minutes

Today, on Directv's site, I went to My Account/My Programming/My Sports, and it say "You do not have any sports subscriptions". The past couple of weeks it has said NHL Center Ice, I have made my first 2 payments for NHL CI. It seems like today it just disappeared. Hopefully, just a glitch on their site. Wondering if anyone else sees the same thing?

I'm sorry, this has probably been covered a dozen times (maybe even in this thread), but... what's the rule again for home and visitor feeds when both are listed in the Center Ice channels? Is it visitor on lower numbered channels, or is that backward? They used to put it at the bottom of the screen on the sports schedule channels, but it's not on there at the moment.

Typically the home team feed is the lower number, but best to check the website because on a few occasions they make a boo boo,

You can also watch/record from the RSN it's on. They're not blacked out when you sub to CI.

If all else fails, you can check the NHL CI schedule on the DIRECTV website [link]. It clearly list which teams feed is on what channel.

Turns out that directv had cancelled CI when I removed Starz 2 days ago (end of trial over phone). The first line techs @ DTV are complete imbeciles. The lady said she could just reinstate it and my 2 previous payments would apply. I am going to watch that closely, wouldn't surprise me if they tried to bill me for the whole amount again. Lesson: When calling to cancel something check online to make sure you still have everything when done.

I got an email back from sportsnet in Canada and its confirmed they have nothing to do with broadcasting decisions made by a US based broadcaster.
Directv is holding these games back from us. I am not complaining as I love what is available. I guess it cost them money they don't want to spend. I just don't understand because the SD version is available.:confused:

And just received this from sportsnet:

Assuming we have produced the game in HD, the HD feed is available for Centre Ice packages. It is up to your cable/satellite provider whether they make that feed available in HD as part of their Centre Ice package. Specifically regarding the Leafs, all our games are in HD.

I wonder how much it would cost to provide these games in HD? I would think it must be at least somewhat expensive, or, wouldn't they of already included them?

We know its money that is stopping them, but the question is how much?

    colorado,...
It is "Always" about money! Until HD becomes the standard everywhere, providers can always argue "you only paid for the SD version". I went thru this with my local ABC affiliate for almost 2 years, between them and Directv over "HD" rights. As long as they have 2 products(SD&HD) they will charge separately for both and unless DTV pays for both we won't get them. Don't like it much(simple greed on all parties IMO) but that seems to be what we get.... :nono2::nono2:

Looks like you are correct, could it be the first Canadian HD feed on SNET-O? Although its not showing the feed in the guide on 779-1, so it may not really happen.

CSN Chicago HD started uplinking to C-band in the Summer and Bell started using it for EI feeds, so expect CSN Chicago HD in Bell's CI this season.
