Well, no more complaining about Center Ice from me. We have it very good compared to our friends with Dish Network...who are paying just as much as we are for Center Ice.

Dish HD CI games on Friday: 1
Dish HD CI games on Saturday: 2

DirecTV HD CI games on Friday: 6
DirecTV HD CI games on Saturday: 10

Like I said, we have it pretty darn good.

Is that because of the Fox dispute? Dish was saying it wouldn't affect CI. Maybe they meant it won't affect customers paying for it.

I don't know. A mod over there said CI wouldn't be effected. I'm not sure if this is normal or if he was wrong. Maybe it is always that lousy for them. They pay the same rate for CI as we do, but get far less in return.

I would call Directv. Center Ice was taken off my account after I had made two installments. The reason was that I had called on the 6th and cancelled Starz and the HD Extra Pack (had on free promotions). Knowing that the Directv Customer service reps are complete morons, I made it very clear that I wanted only the HD extra pack + Starz removed (thought they might misinterpret "HD Extra Pack" for HD Service) When I called the lady told me that it had been taken off on the 6th. She also said there is no record of my request to take it off. She told me it wasn't a problem and she reinstated it immediately. It showed up right away on my account.

If I were you I would call up, because if it isn't on the account there is a good chance it got removed somehow.

From what I remember, Dish has always had less HD games on CI than Direct. I don't know if it has always been this bad. I know that Fox is probably in the wrong (who really knows), but I will say if I had Dish, I think I would have jumped ship. If it wasn't for sports, I wouldn't order cable. Everything can be watched online at close to the same resolution(somehow). Sports just haven't caught up yet because of it being a live stream. Had mlb.tv this year, no where near the quality of MLB EI.

I think Directv had the Center Ice schedule already up before the Thrashers released their TV schedule (a few days ago). I think they just forgot to add the feed and I don't think there is a dispute or anything like some people are asking above (since they are showing the Thrashers feed Saturday night).

And on the Dish news, thank you God for giving me that feeling to switch to Directv! I know you guys are complaining about the Canadian feeds not being in HD (and I'm with you) but coming from Dish I am happier then you know what! Thank you Directv for all of the great HD hockey! :D

Thanks! Believe me I will! And this is just with Center Ice. If I lost my local FSN (local team), I would be livid with Dish!

I switched about 3 months ago. I was always curious about Directv but never made the switch. Finally, I asked the wife (figuring she would say no), but actually she said yeah go ahead. To not go too off topic, we are both happy as ever. Now with all the Dish mess going on, someone had to of been giving me a sign to switch!:D

To Crimpshrine: Wow! You got "The Official Welcome" from the Governor.

If you behave, he'll probably send you the secret handshake.

CI is a great package, even with the omissions.

Less than a buck a day, and I'll bet at least 80% of the games in the package will be in HD.

I will call. I originally called to cancel NBA League Pass. She had a hell of a time getting that off my account due to some technical issues. I then logged onto my account and CI doesn't appear to be there even though I have paid the first installment.
    I will call tomorrow.

Got home tonight to see the Ducks-Wings game was not on. Called Driectv and they said it was blacked out. What the hell, I live in Flyer country smack in the middle of Philly and Atlantic City?!

Dish also has never had MSGHD which carries four teams so that reduces the number of HD games they can carry.

I hate that stupid Score bar across the top of the screen. It is really annoying.I wish they'd use a box in 1 of the corners.

At least its a Canadian HD feed that everyone seems to want? Not sure why it bother you, do you like seeing the fans in the stands? That's about all it blocks and for the game in Prague, its helping to block all the empty seats. What bothers me is that sometimes they don't show one for long periods of time. I like to know how much time is left in the game or in a penalty and hate when they don't show it.

All sports broadcasts should move their score graphics/network bugs to the outside edges and frame for 16:9.

I wish they would do that too. I believe they don't because it would cut them off in an old 4:3 TV, some of which were HD. I'm actually watching an HD feed of the Notre Dame game on a 4:3 SD TV in my den. Part of the score graphics are actually getting cut off at the bottom.

To avoid that they can letterbox the SD feed. That is what FOX is doing for MLB and NFL broadcasts.

Please tell me that the absence of the Devils HD feed tonight is because of a technical limitation and not some continued hijinx from last year. Do I remember correctly that there was an issue with MSG not being able to do 3 HD broadcasts at once? Isles, Rangers and Devils are all on at the same time, so I'm hoping it's that.

ETA: Monday and Wednesday's Devils games show both HD feeds, so I guess it is the 2 HD broadcast limitation. Now, why the Devils are the third team out in this arrangement and not the Islanders, I'll never know. :)
