what are they useing for the SD feed WGN SD? KSTC SD? the NHL feed?

What will NHL NETWORK on the fly use?

the indemand schedule says indemand is useing WGN SD.

If they are useing WGN SD where is it coming from shaw broadcast services? the SD down converted / cut feed from the D* Chicago OTA uplink?

The FSN Florida feed for the Panthers/Montreal game is the worse HD I have ever seen. It looks like a misaligned antenna on an old analog signal, with ghosts around the people and objects. The SD version is just as bad.

this hd is making me feel mighty inebriated. i wonder if this is what floridians viewed as well or was it just us on direct tv that saw it this way?

It had to be the feed coming out of Canada, the commercials, and the logos embed-ed over the video, were good.

centre ice on all the canadian services used the wgn hd feed, as did the nhl network for their on the fly program. It is easy to do since the wgn chicago hd feed is available nationwide in canada, unlike in the us, where it is only available in chicago. WGN America isnt available in Canada.

I heard that Directtv used the KSTC sd feed but that is unconfirmed since I didn't watch it.

Wonder if they shared the CBC widescreen SD feed. CBC only does one of the early games in HD and it is always the leafs game.

The SD for every game on CI is terrible. If it were any worse, it would be radio.

This has always been the case, even before the Dish Dispute. If you are in a teams market that is broadcasting the game, you will be blacked out from the opposing teams feed. Strangely, sometimes this doesn't happen even though it is supposed to. HGuardian was probably supposed to get blacked out of the game since his local team was broadcasting the game. But what has changed is when your local team is NOT broadcasting the game and the opposing team is. During the dispute you would still be blacked out of the opposing teams feed. According to nhlfan79, last night, the game was available in atlanta (St. Louis feed), because Atlanta wasn't broadcasting the game. Hope that clears it up.

DirecTV does not carry KSTC in HD yet locally in the Twin Cities market (I have an AM-21 that allows me to feed it thru my D* DVR off a small indoor antenna, and that's how I watch KSTC games in HD). Dunno if that contributed to that decision or not (they could have just remapped the KSTC SD channel that they do carry). This year is the first time that all KSTC games are available in HD. . . last year it was like 2 out of 24 or so.

The rumor is, starting next season *all* Wild games will be FSN North, so that likely takes care of that.

I'm glad it's over. Can someone tell me how it is that a spat between Dish and Fox affected Center Ice and DirecTV? I'm not sure I've seen an explanation of that.

The only explanation is that fox had didn't want people with CI getting in market games on Dish (on Fox Net). Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but oh well, glad that its over, even though that it doesn't really affect me (since all of my in market teams games are on local tv (except 2, 1 of which is on RDS only, and one that isn't broadcast at all))

The Rangers/Flyers game on Thursday night which is on MSG is not listed on the NHL CI schedule either on the DVR guide or the on line schedule. Anyone have any idea what is happening?

I can remember a few years ago a couple of Rangers games didn't show up on the DVRs schedule until the day of the game (and this was before D* put the entire schedule with channels on line on their web site), so I am hoping it shows up eventually.

Its only seems to be on DIRECTV's NHL CI package, when its the only feed available. And if it is on, it's an SD feed.

It was on NHL Network. Don't know what feed they used because I didn't watch it.

CSN-Chicago. They will pretty much always use the CSN feeds because C* owns part of the NHLN.
