I watched a bit here and there, devils feed on CI, but when I tried to watch the OT it was completely unwatchable, was going to do a signal check but I was recording something and did not want to stop.

I know this is off topic, but does anyone know why my H24 has the new logo for the NHL Network but my HR24 still has the old logo? This has been like this for awhile now. Actually there are other channels like this too. Not that I really care but was just wondering if anyone knew..

I know this is a DirecTV programming forum. But I do have a Center ice question that is not DirecTV.

Is it possible to subscribe to center ice using the Big Ugly Dishes (the older satellite dishes)? If it is possible to buy that subscription, then I’d be curious what feeds of games would be available that way, and how much better the PQ might be. I’m guessing the broadcasts will be much less compressed.

I have two 10.5 ft dishes. The dishes haven’t been used for a while, but I bet the lnb could be upgraded. If there are more feeds available, and the PQ is better it might be worth it.

There is not much programing left on C-Band (BUD). For sports packages they only show one that contains: ESPN Classics, Interactive Program Guide, NFL, Outdoor Channel, Outdoor Life TV, Speed Channel, Golf and Versus.

Did not have the "stuttering" that others mentioned, but there definitely was an issue with their camera settings. The main camera which gives the medium shot of the ice seemed not to be "white balanced" or something. It was a bit yellow. Yet the lower cameras around ice level were "Color correct", but sometimes overexposed. It was annoying to the eye to keep switching back and forth with the color and brightness variations.... although no matter what angle you happened to be viewing from the Kovy spectacle in the shootout was spmething to behold...

He did look befuddled, but I think he couldn't believe it happened and then realized, hey, I guess we win!

I subscribed to Gamecenterlive and have been using it through the ps3 tonight. The Sportsnet Edmonton feed in hd is good stuff. Watched period one and most of the second through D* though...

I sure wish us NHLCI subscribers could get in on this deal as well.

How does the HD feed look?

Watched the Rangers/Sabres which was broadcast on MSG last night. Again, the picture quality between what I saw last night and the crap on Versus 2 nights prior is just amazing. I really don't understand what the difference is. I know people are talking about the possible differences in compression, but what I was seeing were differences in contrast and brightness along with color and especially marked differences from one camera to another. Aren't those the kinds of things the engineer for the broadcast is supposed to control?

Having lots of sound problems on Center ice feeds - sound cutting out, not 5.1, or no sound. Fine on other channels.

Compression could definitely have something to do with color/contrast issues. And yes, you are correct, the color on versus is sometimes way off. Even though some might argue that the colors on msg are probably technically a bit "over saturated", I think it looks amazing, much much better than Fox or Versus. As far as camera to camera differences, that would definitely be a broadcast issue. I have noticed this many times with sporting events. My guess is the camera isn't set up correctly.

At the last minute DirecTV doesn't show the CBC feed of the Sens and Bruins on 770 and now there's no HNIC feed of the late game? What is up tonight?

This is poor, very poor....

I watched a bit of the game and it looked great in HD on NESN. If a HNIC feed is the most important thing for you, why didn't you watch the Toronto Vancouver game on NHLN.

Possibly he is not a Leafs fan. IMHO, HNIC shows the Leafs a majority of the time during the season on what seems like its primary feed. No problem here, I grew up watching the Leafs in the 60's. :D
