The CI listings for today are still not finalized. Not only are two games missing altogether, but the HNIC games on 769 are listed in all caps, something that usually gets changed by now.

DirecTV is unusually slow this time, it may be costly if they can't get the Senators/Flyers game up in time. Canadian coverage is on SN (national) and TSN5 (regional), wich Flyers coverage on CSN Philly, all of which are feeds DirecTV have been using regularly this season.

The other missing game, Flames/Jets, has coverage on SN (national), SNW (regional), and TSN3 (regional). Again, DirecTV should have no problem with any of the feeds, unless NBC is able to block it with their exclusive window which takes place at the same time.

The Jets have had plenty of 3 pm games this season on Saturdays where they have been available on CI, so I don't see that being the case today.

Am hour ago, I spoke with a rep who actually sounded like he understood CI.

After I explained the problem, he put me on hold, and after consulting with someone, assured me the Sens v Flyers game would appear on either 770 or 771 (SD and HD ).
When I asked why the Guide was not populated he said, "We are still determining which feed and which channel we will use as neither are RSN's".

I suppose that could be legit, but in the past, those decisions were made long before now.

    I'm not optimistic.

Edit: He said the same about the Jets v Sharks.

I'm thinking there is a bandwidth issue with baseball in full swing and the extra Masters channels that are running this afternoon. They might be figuring what to turn off.

The difference is that NBC, not NBCSN, has games at 3 PM ET today, being shown regionally. When they've done this in the past, they have gotten an exclusive window during which games could not be shown on Center Ice, forcing you to go to their website to stream out-of-market games. I don't know if that will apply today, but it might.

Has the Senators game shown up yet? Last I looked, at about the time for face off, it still wasn't there. I'm currently streaming the audio in the NHL app.

You get NHL Center Ice for days like today, when my team (Boston) makes the playoff or gets eliminated. The fact I can't get the Ottawa/Philadelphia game today makes the decision to buy the online product, GameCenter, which has it, pretty easy.

On hold right now, trying to get a different "supervisor".

First one said DirecTV "cannot show CSN Philadelphia or Canadian feeds".

Got him to look at the on line schedule for April 7, when CI had both Senators and Flyers feeds.

He said it must be a mistake.

I love DirecTV, but this inexcusable...

And the bandwidth issue just won't fly for me....It's only 2 feeds today.

And I'm watching the game online in a way I can not explain, in deference to forum rules.

I checked Indemand they are carrying the sens/flyers game and also have the 3 pm flames/jets feed, so the 3pm exclusive is not in effect.

No problem. I'll email retention this whole discussion.

And I agree with CMASIA, the bandwidth issue, especially this afternoon, is a load of crap. Just need one of the two.

For the first time in a while, I have all afternoon to watch this game and the Masters. You give me 7,000 Masters Channels, just give me one for this game.

And now I have a 3 hour block free and I can't watch the game. They lose almost $200 from me next season.

I have basic Comcast in addition to D*. MLB Free Preview opens up the NHL Channels on the cable. I get the Flyers feed in SD.

Still shouldn't be this way though.

Ironically, this has been the best season of Flyers coverage on CI, I thought the days of D* screwing over Flyers fans were gone, I guess they were feeling nostalgic today.

After a terrific year with more Canadian HD than ever, DirecTV completely screws up the last day.

Missing 2 games altogether, with a 3rd chipped in by NBC showing 2 games regionally.

And the Ottawa game was arguably the most important game of all 1,230 played this season. ( Kings v Flames Thursday is right up there. )

I tried calling one last time and got another supervisor who continued to spew the "Comcast owns the rights" crap.

And even looking at the online schedule which showed various Flyer feeds over the last month, he insisted Comcast had "withheld" the rights to today's game. It's not easy to be delicate when you're basically telling a supervisor he has no idea what he's talking about.

Why can't they have a couple of dedicated agents to answer questions regarding sports? They could take other calls, but be the go to guys for issues like this. I'd wait on hold a few extra minutes to get through to someone with a clue.

I am praying next year CI is bundled with Game Center.

I love the fact that i'm forced to watch the Isles-Blue Jackets on NHL network, and miss the pregame ceremony at the last regular season game at the old barn.

PS...The NHL network has the worst ticker on the bottom.

All tickers are bad. People have smart phones networks, hello!

Many networks claim they run them because they're sponsored. Money talks although I can't name any of the sponsors!

Yeah, it seems like more and more channels are adding these annoying tickers. They tend to block the players along the boards and just take up unnecessary space. I would much rather have the advertising along the glass, at least that isn't distracting to the game play.

Really? I'd think they run them because they don't want your eyes to move off the screen onto an iPhone or another channel. Never noticed a sponsor except the channel itself.

I just looked at the playoff schedule for the first round. Two things jumped out at me:

    1. There are games on USA Network on some nights instead of CNBC. I guess there's programming on CNBC on those nights that they don't want to preempt.

    2. On Saturday, there are two games scheduled at 3 PM ET on NBC. They could be nice and do a reverse mirror on NBCSN for the out-of-market game, but I have a feeling we may have to go online to get the other game. NBC has five games overall next weekend, which I think is a record for them.

What happens if the early game on USA goes to OT and runs over the start time of the one that comes on at 7PT? Is it gonna start on the NHL Network or will it just be too bad?
