I got a letter from D* yesterday telling me that NHL CI will be four payments of $41.95, so I think that is the same as last year.

Appears to be. I wonder if this is different price than direct from NHL?

I don't believe you can get CI direct from the NHL.

No, unless msglsmo was referring NHL.TV.

Sorry, since this is a CI thread, I thought that what the question was about.

Two different packages with different pricing. I got NHL.TV for about $80 last year (w/military discount). I think it retails for $130.

But if you get CI from DIRECTV, you get NHL.TV included. So some would say if you buy CI for $168, you're saving $130 by getting NHL.TV.

    Correct.

And, if you want both feeds when playoff time rolls around (NHL.TV is not obligated to provide playoff games to CI subs) next Spring, you can get the NHL.TV Playoff/Offseason package for around $10. Good for the entire playoffs and all the offseason until next year's regular season starts.

Both CI and NHL.TV are regular season packages. So neither is 'obligated' to provide playoff games.

Yes I forgot NHL.TV subs aren't covered for the playoffs. The Playoff package is a bargain though. I don't mind the replay only policy.

My NHL.TV renewal showed up yesterday in my email. $144.99 for the year; military $100.84.

    Preseason starts tomorrow!

We need a mix channel or the ability to do quad PIP on the NHL app. :)

And we need all the channels together.

Oh wait. That is for post-season. :)

2 things I'd like to see:

    1) Eliminate the stupid -1 for HD channels

    2) More Canadian feeds, especially the addition of games from TSN 2. We never get Habs games from TSN 2.

Good question, and the answer is no.
Just clunky to switch back and forth between DirecTV and NHL,tv.
    First world problems, eh? :)

    Why switch back & forth?

Get an Apple TV 4K. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said this, I might as well put it in my sig; the PQ is superior to CI - it’s not even close. And you have a dual screen option.

Too small. Would need about a 100" screen unless you have 20/15 vision or a set of binoculars.

Or do something stupid like put one TV on top of the other.

I know you didn’t ask me, but I am stuck with one.

Besides, I pay DirecTV for CI with nhl.tv as an add-on. If I wanted to stream the games, I’d pay the NHL directly. So... I’d prefer they add on as much as possible to the TV package rather than rely on the app to fill in the blanks.

Now, with that being said, I LOVE having nhl.tv thrown in. I couldn’t tell you how many games I’ve watched while sitting in the car waiting to pick up one of my kids somewhere. But it’s just that -- an add-on.
