Yeah, thanks for letting us know. Worked for me, too. I think that’s the earliest I’ve ever seen them turn it on for CI subscribers.

So AT&T did something more efficiently than DIRECTV? ;)

Someone probably tripped and accidentally flipped the switch.

The CI channels are now populated in the Guide.

    Bad news...

We're stuck with the dreaded -1 for HD channels.

Why on earth is CI the only out-of-market package doing this?

Hard to believe a large percentage of CI Subs are still watching NHL games on a standard definition TV set.

I agree that the -1 channels need to go, but with a custom guide it really is a non-issue.

True, and I do use a custom guide.

And it really is one of those "first world" problems, but I do get annoyed at things that make no sense!

The first two nights of the regular season have been added to the Guide.

    A few things stand out:

    1) All games are given a 4 hour block this year, instead of last year's 3. No need to add any extensions when recording.

    2) Last week I was guessing about how DirecTV would treat the Altitude dispute, and for the first time in a hundred years I got one right.
The Flames - Avs game on Thursday only has the Flames feed.
No Altitude feed for out of market subs.

    3) SportsNet has a "doubleheader" on opening night for the 2 all-Canadian matches, yet CI has them on different channels.
Hope they don't do that for HNIC every Saturday.

    4) No surprise, but no TSN2 feed for the Habs opener at the Canes Thursday night. Boooo.

    5) Friday's games are not populated, but there is a 2:00EDT start of the Hawks v Flyers from Prague, Czech Republic.

Man, am I looking forward to this season!

Bad sign for us in market viewers.....Looks like DTV is not expecting an agreement to be reached.....With the Avs re-signing Rantanen, we are really looking forward for this season, but unfortunately it could be a while before we even see a game.....

    1. I still add 3 hours to all games just in case they go into a crazy shootout session. But 4 hours is better than 3.
    2. It will be available on the NHL.TV app. :)
    3. Hope they don't mess that up, or cut out too early. I got to have my Don Cherry time. :)
    4. It will be available on the NHL.TV app. :)
    5. It will be on the NHL Network. (as stated above)

    6. I'm still hoping NHL.TV updates their Apple TV app to do quad PIP. I've been emailing them over the past few months asking them to fix it. If you can do it on their website (NHL.TV) I don't see why they can't add it to their native Apple TV.

    Hi, lacubs and TRP.

    Thanks for the notes.

Since I try to avoid NHLN like the plague it is, I just wanted to give a heads up about the "early" game Friday.
I'm certain we'll get at least get the NBCS Chicago feed on CI. Not so sure about the Flyers feed.

    Drop the puck ! ! !

I don't understand why they think #2 and #4 are solutions. Put it on real tv. I would consider buying CI if I could watch the Canadiens feeds reliably on TV without fiddling with apps. #5 is barely real TV, but better than an app.

Thanks, I think. I have seen that site before, but I don't understand it. I don't see the point. My TV has those apps already so why would I pay for something to have them again? I must be missing something but I don't see what. I also have never played with Fire TV or Apple TV so I don't really know what they do either. Whenever you visit someone with streaming, it seems like it takes 10 to 15 minutes to find what I can find on Directv in seconds. And that's the normal user finding it - it takes me longer. I haven't liked any of the Netflix shows I tried to watch, there is one of Prime that is good. The only real use for streaming TV is for the games they hide there and then you have to look up where it is on several services and not have the handy "my teams" find it for you. The Canadiens feeds would be nice, but not worth paying for something that is online-only in my book.

    Certainly personal preferences.
I travel a lot. I'll sometimes take a streaming device with me to watch my shows and sports. Very easy. And I can arrange the channels in any order I want. Very easy to find things. My devices also receive regular updates. Those same apps on my Smart TV haven't been updated since I bought the TVs, so if you're going to stream a lot of programming, a device seems to be better than the TV.

Hoping his playoff performance wasn't a fluke....He seems to have good awareness to go along with his speed....and of course here's hoping we'll actually be able to watch him!!!

As you may have seen, I'm from Massachusetts. Saw both years of his play at UMass. You'll like what you're getting. Has improved his strength, needs to work a bit still on his shot, but is tremendous exiting the zone.

Another interesting channel dispute "tell" shows up in the CI Channels Guide.

Only one feed for Friday's Hawks v Flyers match from Prague appears on 776-1.

    And it's the Flyers' feed.

No Hawks' feed from NBCS Chicago, even though they will be televising the game. Look at 665.

First, DirecTV takes the Altitude feed away from out of market subs, and now they fire a shot across the bow in the potential dispute with NBCS Chicago.

On another subject, I love the posts above regarding on the ice stuff, especially speculation on the upcoming season.

But, please... No game spoilers here.

Our hosts at DBS Talk are kind enough to have a spot for game - and result - discussions.

    Sports Programming and Events

    Hope everyone uses that.

    Thanks in advance.

    Signed,
    A DVR guy
