I'll take a wild @%% guess at tomorrows NHLCI schedule:

    7:00 PM
Lightning (Sun) 765 @ Devils (FSNY) 764 Only in HD in NYC area via cable unless something spectacular happens tomorrow...;)

    7:30 PM
Hurricanes (FSN SOUTH) 767 @ Panthers (FSN FLORIDA) 766 Both of these are listed as HD, but probably only in local markets possibly as I don't believe any of these feeds are yet "conus" on Directv.

    8:30 PM
Blackhawks (CSN CHICAGO) 769 @ Stars (FSNSW) 768 This game has possibilities of being an HD telecast.. Directv lists this in the guide on 643 and 643-1 (HD), but not in the NHLCI range....so we will wait and see.

    10:30 PM
Blue Jackets (FSN OHIO) @ Kings (FSN WEST) This game will be on the NHL NETWORK (215) and probably in HD. This game will NOT BE INCLUDED in NHLCI due to contract limitations. Viewers in the FSN OHIO and FSN WEST territory will get the game locally on their respective RSN while all others will see the game on NHL NETWORK and have the RSN's blacked out. This game is listed for FSN OHIO as being in HD, so the NHL NETWORK will probably be using that feed for the US viewers..I think..;)

I believe this to be correct for tomorrow, but your mileage may vary...;)

Do we have any confirmation on the NHL Network? I'm waiting to see if its coming to add it to my programming. I don't want to order Choice Xtra then find out its gonna be three to four months before it comes. Thanks

Well, same 'ol same 'ol -- the Wings vs Oilers game is not coming in on Ch 636HD (FSNHD)... but the SD feed is on both Ch 636 (SD) and Ch 765 (SD)...

Again, why is the Ch 636HD feed blacked out? It actually says "Not Available in Your Local Area".... Ummm why? I live in California

OK, we're not 100% there but getting closer. You will note on directv.com/nhl in the schedule section that the dual feeds and HD games on 94/95 and Dash-1 are listed.

There are still some discrepancies that I found but the automation that goes into the online schedule is close to actual....hopefully totally rectified here shortly. I know it sounds like an easy fix, but those schedules are not manually done and to make a long story short...the architecture was originally built without ever an intention of using dash-1 or dual feeds. So when the program saw a dash-1 it looked like an error and just spit it out, same with dual feeds as the logic built into the code said there could never be a game on a night at the same time with the same two teams (that was a true statement before we started broadcasting dual feeds). So they've had to go in and rewrite some of the code.

I know you guys are still clamoring for an answer to some of the hd blackout issues...it's being investigated right now. Your feedback has been very helpful....hope to have some answers on that soon.

NHL Network will be part of NHL Center Ice and Choice Xtra....hope that helps. It is NOT part of Sports Pack.

Thank you so very much Satelliteracer.

It is so nice to know that someone at Directv is listening and trying to make their Center Ice package the best available anywhere.

Please keep up the good work for all of us NHL fans.

It's not in HD at all. The Michigan feed is SD on both 636SD and 636HD. Your 636SD is what we are watching on our HD feed. Red Wings only feed HD when they are at home.

Yeah I miss Empire. I bet if they were still around we'd have them in HD already. :)

Anyone remember NFSN? Niagara Frontier Sports Network :D

    Satelliteracer,

I ask you to please also keep up the quest for HD feeds for Canadian hockey broadcasts.

This would set Directv's Center Ice package way above others available elsewhere (cable & Dish Network) and would possibly make Directv more attractive to subscribers.

When Directv made Sunday Ticket a satellite exculsive I am sure it made more football fans subscribe.

If Directv made HD feeds of Canadian broadcasts available they would have an exclusive in the hockey market.

It would pay off with more subscribers.

Your help and insight is greatly appreciated.

I'm not a tech guy at all, but ST avoided the exact problem you mention above by creating specific channels for HD between 719 and 726, with no -1 configuration, and no code issues with the same game on 2 different channels.
Why is CI being constructed differently?
Also the Big 10 Network had no such issues with their HD rollout of their alternates last Saturday, using -1 for HD on 218 and 219.

Thanks again for providing more information in your posts than I ever receive dialling the ignorant.

My biggest issue with Hockey games is when I try to watch a Detroit Red Wings game on 636 (either HD or SD) I get "Error 721" channel not purchased on it (I pay for sports pack but not center ice). Thinking of adding Center Ice but waiting to see the outcome of this thread over the next few days. :D

    Randy

EDIT: I live in Chicago market not Detroit, if that matters (this happens when they play other teams besides Chicago Blackhawks)

I know the game is not in HD -- that is not the point. 90% of the programming on the RSN networks is not HD. HOWEVER, the quality of the upconverted SD feed is 99% better than watching the SD feed on an SD channel. There have been a number of games that I have been able to watch on the HD RSNs that were not in true HD, but were an upconverted feed of the SD channel = much clearer feed. Why don't people get this?:nono2:

Damn! Now I see that the scheduled game on HDNet this weekend was supposed to be the Sharks vs Kings -- but it has been changed due to MLS playoffs. Now the Flames vs Wild is scheduled...

I really wanted to see the Kings vs Sharks in true HD... was having a BBQ party with a bunch of Sharks and Kings fans... now that's a wash...

I get you and agree. Would definitely want to watch the upconverted game on the HD channel than the overcompressed version on the SD channel.

I see the slides on the DIRECTV Sports Schedule channels have finally been updated...

and...wow...three games with dual feeds tomorrow...

Looks like the first feeds are the home team and the second one is the away team, so far...Although you can't be sure...receiver lists two feeds for Carolina vs Florida, but Directv.com sked only lists one feed...and when there is only one feed, we are left to wonder which one it will be...usually it's the home team's telecast...

Not enough free channel numbers in the 700's range to do that with NBA and NHL.

    I opened up 20 channels...

How about moving up the NBA from 750 to 730? Since MLBEI is over as of end of September...
