I like your idea but I worry about using up valuable bandwidth, maybe people like me should check NHL Network first before panicking.

Maybe they could list the NHL Network game and the Versus game on the hockey games list on channel 105.

    Like :

    Bruins @ Devils 770
    Bruins @ Devils (HD) 770.1
    Senators @ Panthers (NHL Network ) 215
    Islanders@ Thrashers 771

    etc

No extra bandwidth is needed as the channels are "mirrored" to the 700's, they are just duplicates, assigned to a different channel number, so no extra bandwidth is used. :)

I think that would be a great idea too. Too often I forget a matchup is on one of those channels until they give the score on a game I am watching and I remember to check for them. The HDNet games would be a plus too. I don't think it is likely to happen though as it seems that D* wants to hold the 700's for NHLCI games only, and technically, I don't think those games count for CI.

So no Buffalo feed tonight for the Sabers/Ducks? I could have sworn I saw too feeds listed in the guide earlier tonight.

One other thing I'd like to see is a game mix channel (in HD of course). D* could do it like they do their News and Sports mix channels, except I'd like to see 6 full screens (would fit the screen better) instead of 8 small ones, they are way too small. Maybe next season.

But overall, things are good. :)

As a long time D* NHLCI customer I think they have done a great job with the dual feeds and HD content.

The last missing piece for me is having the Canadian Feeds in HD as well. Hockey Night In Canada in HD would be the icing on the cake. Could we be asking too much?

Well, SNET HD, TSN HD, and CBC HD are all available without needing fiber so it is possible without much inconvenience from that technical standpoint.

I think Satracer said that D* had to get some decoders in order to get those channels.

I am hoping that these show up before the end of this season....if not by next.

Maybe we should all pitch in and buy Directv a Canadian satellite service dish & receiver to use to receive those HD channels for retransmission.

E* does put the NHL Net in the same range as the CI channels but they do not do that with Vs.

I agree 100%. CBC HNIC HD feeds would be the last piece of the puzzle.

    Oh my gawd.

Will you want your local NBC mirrored there, too?

I am starting to become of the mind that since all RSNs are live for hockey now with the dual feed ability that the 700 range for the NHL is becoming obsolete.

That plus one more small piece, Comcast Philadelphia. If MSG and FSNY can negotiate carriage, why can't we see Flyers games in HD too? I know the reasons, but this IS a Christmas list....

This should be coming eventually. Even without CSN Philly in SD, they have had Flyers hockey, Sixers basketball and Phillies baseball from CSN Philly on their respective packages. I would expect the same for HD after they debug all the RSN stuff. (And we did get at least one Phillies HD game in 2007.)

Satelliteracer? Is that in the plan? You don't have to give a date.....until the others start pressuring you for it.

Philly CSN will not happen as they are "excempt" from providing the RSN (thanks to the FCC) since they use a terrestrial loophole. Since they distribute the RSN via fiber and not satellite they are not obligated to provide the channel to D* or E*

Only way to get this channel is through cable and it will be that way for long long time.

Channel won't happen any time soon, agreed...but the post was about the HD games from that source in the league packages (as we have seen some in SD).

    ;)

Actually I agree with you there. If I want to watch a certain team, all I need to do is switch to that teams RSN, providing they are showing the game. Rangers 621, Bruins 623, Red Wings 636, etc etc.

It's on now... just took a few minutes for the channel to turn on, then for the ratio to go from 4:3 to 16:9.

Does anyone think the satellite racer dude even reads this thread anymore? I mean, even he must get tired of the problems.
