I really like Doc when the game is intense and he has something to call. When it is a boring Tuesday night game he tends to ramble about nothing a lot. His actual play calling is one of the best in the biz when he is actually calling the game.

I could care less who is calling the game. The audio format and picture quality are paramount in my book.

+1. And I'm not even from your area ;).

I watched the Devils SD feeds during the MSG HD holdout dispute for the same reason.

Now, I'm guessing here that you're not a Rangers fan ;), but I also like those guys as well. I liked "JD" better than the replacement guy though.

I watched the NY area teams long before the Stars arrived in Dallas via the C Band Sportschannel feeds and some WOR games as well.

I also liked "Jiggs" and "Ed" with the Islanders.

Full disclosure first. I hate the Flyers.

I grew up a Ranger fan and remember when the league had 6 teams.
So I hate the Flyers, Devils, Islanders and all the rivals who have caused me great pain.

    But, having said that....

The Flyers play by play guy is really tough to listen to.

His saccharine, sing song voice with exaggerated vocal inflections sounds like Jerry Seinfeld on speed.

thanks for confirming that. i think i'm going to switch from dish. i canceled CI before the season.... just in case i wanted to switch and i've been watching the free preview. that gives me a couple weeks to see what dish does. i'm hoping they not only reslove the msg issue but get msg hd as part of the negotiations. i know...wishful thinking!
i just got a new 58" plasma and cant' stand to go thru another nhl season with the rangers in SD
