Why on earth is this game being blacked out?
Rangers are my local team but their game is not on FSSW today. Its a makeup game though from last night. Channel 601 says that it should be aired on 727 at 3:30pm.
If you live in the Rangers market, which includes Oklahoma, you'll be blacked out of the EI feed, unless it's lifted for some odd reason.
The blackout rules aren't that hard. If you live in the team's market, you shouldn't be able to see the feed in EI.
Its not televised anywhere else locally.
That doesn't matter. You'll still get blacked out.
RANGERS @ ORIOLES Is on 727-1 at 430PM.I'm watching the game now.
That channel is blacked out for me. Channel 601 says it should be on 727 but its not for me. DirecTV keeps telling me it was a FOX televised game today and that they cant air games till 7pm. I said first of all according to MLB.com there was 2 games on FOX today and that was not one of them. Second of all how are you gonna say MLB EI cant air games till 7pm when there are two available on there right now. They have no answers. The only thing I can come up with is that the Rangers are my local team and are not playing at home. Their FSN channel is not airing the game and its not a home game so for some stupid reason its blacked out. It appears that the game would not of been on my local FSN had it aired last night either so that is my best guess. Not sure why the people at DirecTV cant figure it out. Arnt they paid to know this crap?
I am guessing you mean if its not on my local FSN then it is blacked out on EI?
Correct. It's a horrible rule (especially since this game is in Baltimore), and the NBA and NHL have lifted blackouts for both Grizzlies and Predators games here that weren't on SportsSouth for out-of-market packages, but the MLB maintains their archaic anti-fan blackouts.
Yup, the game was on the local OTA station TXA-21...several Rangers games are OTA only. And if you live in Oklahoma, you're technically in the Rangers' market, even though you have no way to see the game. The same idiotic concept applies in Eugene, Oregon as we are in the Giants and Athletics market, even though both teams are over 600 miles away and we can't ever see their OTA games. The Mariners also claim Eugene but that actually makes sense, plus all of their games are on Root Sports Northwest.
What's weird is I seem to remember that Extra Innings used to put on the Rangers OTA games for out of market subs but it seems like that isn't happening anymore.
My main question is, will there be a Rangers feed at all for the late game? I see only the Orioles feed but the Rangers are supposed to have the late game on FSN Southwest...I will be really angry if we don't get it.
As was stated, it was on KTXA 21 here because it was a makeup game for yesterday. KTXA has a deal to carry all Friday games. It wasn't even in today's guide.
OK, where is the Rangers feed for game 2? It shows it is on FSN Southwest but it's blacked out for me...why? They are supposed to have every feed...I don't want to watch the Orioles homer feed.
Not true...I watched it here on my local RSN (MASN). If you live in the "blackout" area and FSSW is your local RSN, you should have seen the game. If FSSW or MASN are not your local RSNs, then you would be blacked out.
They finally flipped the switch for FSNSW Rangers Feed...ugh so sick of this.
I have the 2nd game on my MLB EI package 727-1. MASN2 feed
They're not supposed to have every feed. Why do some people not get this?
No matter how many times you tell the same person....
Good point. The D* format is far better than most cable systems who only give you one feed.
The games come on channel 675 and 675-1 for the Rangers KTXA games.
Where does Direct TV say this is?
