Office 2010 has been released to manufacturing by Microsoft. Retail availability is scheduled for June.

VL & SA Clients will be released April 27th.

Why does manufacturing always get it weeks later than the pirate sites?

    Good news!

Because internal people and/or third parties that have early access tend to have someone that leaks it. Same with all the big companies large projects :(

Plus, the RTM version is made before it is actually released usually as they do final checks to make sure the last few things they think they fixed actually got fixed and there is not one last showstopper bug. The pirate sites just release the RTM version before it has been through all that, so there is still thesmall possiblilty that they may change it once more.

    OK, just need to vent.
What idiot on the Office 2010 team decided that Server 2008 KMS servers shouldn't be able to activate Office 2010? Server 2003 - OK, Server 2008 R2 OK, Server 2008 - not OK. Especially since Server 2003 will go end of mainline support in July.

To add insult to injury, if you want to use your existing 2003 or 2008 R2 KMS server, you have to reinstall all your Vista/Win7/2008/2008 R2 keys after you apply the KMS update for Office 2010. You then have to cross the default thresholds for those keys before they start activating boxes again. I mean come on; I like KMS, but this constant updating of KMS every time MS ships a new product has got to stop.
