Since all you've got is SD (up until they sent the HR21 to replace your R10) you likely do not have a Slimline. As I said earlier if it doesn't say Slimline on your dish reflector then you likely have an 18" dish. That's why you're encountering errors. Try sat setup: 18" & 72.5, that will likely work...

    This is a Slimline Dish:

Hmm....ok....4 cables from dish to WB68? No splitters or diplexors anywhere? What are the errors you encountered? Since all you've had is SD it's possible the dish is off on alignment. The SD boxes only need the 101, but the HD boxes also need the 99 and 103. If those alignments are off (101 can be strong and 99/103 can be way off) then you will receive errors/not be able to activate.

We'll need the errors to clarify.

It doesn't specifically say what errors, just that errors were encountered. On the 72.5, during the dish setup, there are red X's under the 72.5, 95, etc.

They just came out and repointed the dish over the weekend.

    Could the Multiswitch be bad?

Ok, that helps. Try completing sat setup with just "slimline-3" and see what happens. Do you have problems on your SD receivers with locals? You can also post your 72.5 signal strengths from the SD boxes to see how they look.

Signal is 99-100 on 72.5, even though HR-21 isn't seeing it. I have tried Slimline 3, Slimline 5, all of them. 2 cables run to HR21.

Everything on the SD boxes works perfectly.

You've tried "slimline 3" without 72.5 and still got errors? What were they?

    SCDishMan2006,

The BBCs are probably your problem, but if you get those and get things working, if the CSR was correct that your market is not part of an MPEG4 market, then you would likely have to be paying the HD fee if you keep the HR21 HD DVR. I think the only way around that fee now would be to return the HR21 and get an R15, 16 or 22.

    I could be wrong.

The BBC's are and always have been connected.

I have a dish that says "Slimline" on it and has 3 LNB's.

All of the SD boxes work fine.

So what I did was move the 2 cables on the multiswitch down to 2 other open ports.

Now, when I select Round dish + 72.5, I get all blue checkmarks on 101, 110 and 119.

BUT, nothing on 72.5. The 72.5 dish was just replaced. It's plugged into Flexport 1 and the SD receivers see it fine.

Any ideas? Thanks for everybody's help.

Interestingly, my R10 TV couldn't see the 72.5 either. I'm thinking defective multiswitch.

I'd say defective multiswitch or a problem with the lines to your HR21 (especially considering your R10 didn't see 72.5, but the other receivers do...)

I'm tempted to buy my own multiswitch for $20 off ebay than wait for a truck roll (I have the protection plan.)

Wait. How many lines are comming from the slimline? There should be 4 from the slimline and 1 from the 72.5 for a total of 5 on the input side of the switch.

RobertE: 4 lines from the slimline and 1 line from the 72.5.

Oh, and I ruled out the cables. I plugged in an SD box in this room and it gets the locals just fine. Gotta be the WB68.
