I get HD locals here including PBS, but not the weather info. channel so in my case it's probably not worth it finanacially. I would think though if i didn't get hd locals like when i lived in Charleston SC for a year I would have it. I used OTA everynight then! I would have paid it no problem with this reciever. I had the hr10-250 then so I didn't need it but I would have paid it. Because I can'twatch anything really that's not HD.

Well bear in mind that tons of people paid $300 for the HR20 and -21 until the recent price drop. Now they can get an HR-21 for $200 and then add in OTA for $60, but only if necessary due to lack of HD via satellite or for access to subchannels and such.

Well, since Lin owns our NBC station and I also want PBS, I would pay $60 for this. It's working just like my HR20s. I'm very happy. :D

I would end of paying for it. I like having it for when storms come thru and also for some of the sub-channels that we don't get with Directv.

I would pay $60 for it to get PBS and CW in HD, along with snowstorm insurance. :)

I find it interesting that the circuit board is as large as it is, considering that OTA-HD USB tuners can fit in something smaller than a pack of gum. I imagine part of that is that the AM21 is doing things that driver software on a PC would have to do instead. There are also some high quality components there that should offer a better experience than if they had crammed lower-end components onto the HR21 board.

Modern DVD players are often this way as well - mostly empty space.

That is my biggest reason for saying yes, I would end up paying for it as well.

Yeah, I would. I like directing my antenna to Lansing to get their HD now that I have Flint HD over the sat.

Yes. Via Antenna if I like, but now via D*, I get:

    WNEM-DT (CBS)
    WSMH-DT (FOX)
    WJRT-DT (ABC)
    WEYI-DT (NBC)

Via antenna only I'm pulling in from the Lansing area:

    WLNS-DT (CBS)
    WSYM-DT (FOX)
    WLAJ-DT (ABC)
    WILX-DT (NBC)
    WKAR-DT (PBS)
