Is it possible to control one HR24 in RF mode with two different remotes?

Sure, program the first remote by following the On Screen instructions. Once you are done with the first remote, DO NOT press "done" on the screen, rather grab the next remote and program it as well. Once both remotes are program, press "done"

Excellent, thanks. However, my sister can't get either of her two remotes to work in RF mode. She's got an HR24 that she got as a replacement for one that died. She has an RC65RBX & an RC65RX. Both work in IR mode, neither will work with RF.

well is hard to believe she has two defective RF remotes or even an HR24. I suspect "user error"

How far is she trying to control from ??

HR20 with the external antenna is tough to beat for distance.

Some of the other receivers are just sad in how poorly the RF works.

    :eek2:

Good, because you can't do it without the tv on and tuned to the receiver.

Sorry for posting in an old thread. My question is; once a receiver has had a RF Remote programmed to it (HR20), can a second RF Remote be add/programmed to it, and "How?" Would the programming procedure be the same for a H25 receiver?

I am not even close to a remote expert, but you could try turning the receiver back to IR and then following the procedure Peds listed above (not pressing done after first remote is programmed to RF).

There is also a code to reset your remote back to all original default settings. Can't remember what it is now, but I have had to use it many times when I do the whole room/receiver switcheroo. I usually just google it.

Absolutely, see post #2. and you are right, the instructions are teh same with the H25 with the exception that the H25 does NOT have a built in RF antenna. you must call DirecTV or eBay the H25 RF "dongle" in order to use RF remote
